3 Months

Little man turns 3 months old this week!!  Currently he:

--wears size 3 diapers
--goes to bed between 7:00-8:00 but usually wakes up a couple of times before I go to bed and just needs to be picked up and given a little pat on the back.
--sometimes sleeps through the night but is always up at 6:00am like his big brother.
--still has a hard time napping unless he's on someone or on a long road trip.  It takes a while to get him down then he usually only sleeps about 5-10 minutes before waking up.  This is the same type sleep pattern Connor had.  I so hoped to luck out on a better sleeper this time around. BUT he's a very happy and content baby so I can't complain.
--talks, coos and smiles a lot more often now.  He gets so into it with his expressions.

I'm trying hard to set Reid on a routine, but having a 2 year old makes that a bit difficult.  Connor needs to be out playing and doing so we try for an outing every morning. Luckily we live very close to a sprinkler park, bounce house, mall and a pool.  So I usually just hope for Reid to fall asleep while we're out!

Papa Jud has a magical shoulder. Reid ALWAYS falls asleep on him; Connor used to do the same thing.   Whenever either of the boys need a nap, I send them to PJ's shoulder!!!
Such a big boy now!!
Too busy watching Dora to look at me!
Connor likes to kiss or rub his head on Reid's then always says "Naw how sweet"

Fun in L-town

We've been at Camp Mimi and Papa Jud's all week and have had so much fun!!
Connor's first attempt at sleeping in a toddler bed:
Reid's first dip in the pool.  Mommy forgot to pack his swimsuit!!
Brotherly Love??  Depends on who you ask...
Reid has discovered his tongue.  He sticks it out all the time now!
Enjoying a yogurt popsicle.  I froze a plastic spoon in his yogurt and viola.  A cold, healthy snack.
Uncle Jason took off a couple days of work and drove down to play with us.
We spent the morning at the Morris's house.  Their mom and I have been friends since 2nd grade.
Gage age 5 and Jace age 4.

This picture is purely for laughs!!

And lastly, Happy #34 Anniversary Mimi and Papa Jud!! We love you and can't wait to see you again!

We love our Daddy!

We’ve written a poem for Daddy that comes straight from the heart
But when you’ve got a dad like Josh, just where do we start??

You know you’re our hero and we look up to you
You’re funny, you’re smart, you give good haircuts, too!
Mommy said she’s glad she’s got you by her side
Because raising two boys is such a joy ride.

We can’t wait for you to teach us how to camp and how to fish
And also how to make MeMaw’s enchilada dish.
You’ll have to take us hunting and teach us about quail and deer
And how to shoot a rifle…when Mommy’s nowhere near!

You’ve taught us about the color maroon and how to say “Gig Em”
But we also like the color green and saying the phrase “Sic Em”
Someday we hope you’ll coach us at all the sports we play
While Mommy’s on the sideline cheering all the way.

We love to watch “airpane show” that you play on the Wii
And look forward to the day that we too have a Mii

Thank you so very much for building our cool sandbox
And helping us find worms, doodlebugs and rocks.

Mommy says you’re blessed to have a Connor and a Reid
And we think having a Daddy like you is another blessing indeed.

We know sometimes we cry and can be really loud
But we hope in the end we make you very proud.
I guess the only thing left now for us to say
Is we love you very much, Daddy
Happy Father’s Day!

We also want to wish Papa Jud, Paw Paw and Granddaddy a happy day as well.  We love you!

2 year check up

Today Connor had his 2 year check up and did very well.  The doctor's comment to Connor: "you are one long and lean boy."  No surprise, here's how he measured:

Height - 37in - 97%ile
Weight - 30.10 lb - 77%ile

Because he had to get a shot, he was awarded a lollipop upon leaving; he has talked about that lollipop all day!  In fact tonight he told me that he wanted to go to the hospital.  I asked him why and he said "to get a lollipop!"  (The doc's office is attached to the hospital!!)

The last few weeks his phrase has been "What dat, Mommy? What dat?"  He wants to know what everything is!!  Then when I tell him he repeats word for word what I say.  Also lately one of his phrases has been " I need....."  Today he told me "Mommy I need to watch Dora. I need to!"  Last night it was "I need to mow the grass, Mommy, I need to mow!"

Here are some future blackmail pictures.  Mommy accidentally bought the pink Little Mermaid swim diapers so of course I had a good laugh while he was playing in them:

Here is when he just needed to mow!

He likes to bend over and blow bubbles in the pool.

He picked some flowers for me so I put them behind my ears.  He decided he wanted to do that as well.  So check out this look.  I'm sure his daddy is not proud of this picture!!  Pink panties and flowers behind the ears!

OK now let's talk about Reid.  Reid did a very very wonderful thing for Mommy last night...he slept through the night!! I put him down at 8:00 and he didn't wake up until 5:30.  Well, I think I might've woken him up at 5:30.  When I rolled over and noticed what time it was I hit the video monitor to check on him.  But to my surprise, he wasn't there.  I freaked out and tore out of bed.  When I got in his room he had scooted down to the other side of his crib so the camera didn't show him.  Whew!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'll have the same kind of luck tonight...but I'm not holding my breath.

My little Houdini. Because he is so long, it just takes a couple of kicks to come out of this!

4 Years of Wedded Bliss

June is a busy month for us. Connor's birthday, Father's Day, my parents anniversary and OUR ANNIVERSARY! Four years ago today Josh and I were married. With two kids and no free babysitting we couldn't exactly have a romantic evening out. But, Josh grilled Mahi Mahi and veggies and we dined in while being entertained by a 2 year old and a 2 month old. It was great!!

June 10, 2006 -- Wedding Day

I don't know if you can see, but everyone is smiling in this picture except for my brother!!!
I love you, Joshy, and look forward to many, many more years together!!

Birthday Boy

Today Con-man turns the big 2!!! I still can't believe it's been 2 years. He brings so much joy and laughter to our lives and we thank God everyday for this little blessing. As most parents believe about their children, my child is so darn smart!! Really! I could go on and on about the things he says or does, but that would take forever. His sentences are about 5 words long and he remembers and repeats everything!! Hopefully this blog and all the posts I have will suffice his astonishing development at this age. Oh and I say this at every stage, but I LOVE this stage. It's so great to have conversations with Connor and he understand me and vice versa!
Currently:
He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes between 6-6:30
He eats anything and everything!
He loves Dora and Diego
He can say hello in 4 different languages thanks in part to Dora and Kai Lan

June 9, 2010

Today we decided to celebrate at Chuck-E-Cheese and he had a ball. He ran from one ride to the next and danced and cheered every time Chuck came on stage to sing. It's great b/c he could care less if the rides actually move; he just likes to sit for a few seconds and move onto the next. Saves me money!!

At home blowing out the candle on his cupcake:

I just thought these two were funny expressions:

And of course the blog would not be complete without some bathtime serenading by the Con-man himself!

Off the Charts

I took Reid to the doctor today and here is how he checked out:
Height - 26 in.  off the charts
Weight - 15lb.  97%ile
Head - 40.5cm   70%ile

As if we didn't already know, we have another big boy.  He wears 3-6 month clothing, although depending on the brand some won't fit much longer. Thankfully we have plenty of little boys clothing to go around!

Splish Splash Party

Yesterday we had Connor's 2nd birthday party at our house complete with pools, sprinklers, a slip and slide and a bounce house.  It was hot but I don't think it bothered the kids.  They had so much fun going from one activity to the next.  Now today Daddy and Uncle Jason are busy installing batteries and blowing up toys.

We had the cutest cupcakes thanks to MeMaw. They had blue water with fish, a nice little beach where the teddy graham sat with his inner tube under his umbrella.  And of course this was all made from scratch!!
