Lions and Tigers and Baylor Bears, Oh My!

The day after the Homecoming game, we went to the zoo in Waco.  But before we went, we ate at Cracker Barrel, where upon leaving, Drew had a major blow out.  It was out his clothes, up his back, all over.  Mimi, Josh and I are in the parking lot trying to wipe him off, but then we run out of wipes! Jason and Papa Jud run into the restaurant to get wet paper towels.  Drew is getting upset because we're having to hold him up to clean him off. In the meantime, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are grossed out but can't stop laughing!!  I finally took him into the crowded restaurant with only a diaper to finish cleaning him up and dressing him.  When we came out, I heard someone say, "oh now he has clothes on!"  AH!
Right before (or maybe during???) the blow out!

Now onto the zoo...
Poor Drew bug was teething (the big painful molars) so there was not a lot of sleep during the night.  He crashed on the way to the zoo.

Drew loved watching and following the fish.

There's a fun slide through the otter's home.  Here is a video showing the slide from 5 years ago.

Drew is so lucky to have such great big brothers!

Uncle Donald with Huey, Duey and Louie!

 Reid running from the buffaloes!
 And that's a wrap!!

Baylor Homecoming

Baylor Homecoming Weekend.  A family tradition for many, many years and we hope to continue it!

Instead of spending lots of $$$ on a couple of hotel rooms, we decided to rent a cabin at BSR Cable Park.  Super cool place and I think we'll do that again next year!
Here Drew is checking out one of the chairs outside the cabin
"Playing" on Mimi's phone.  They learn so young!
Watching the parade from Daddy's shoulders
The  boys made the Waco Tribune!! I love this picture!

Suited up and ready to go in!

Look closely at at the Y
They met up with their buddy, Brennan

At first, Drew was scared of the bears in the Letterman's Lounge.  But after a while, he kept walking over there and waving to them.  He'd even stop at people and point to the bears, as to show them "look there are bears!"

He was having a good time cheering on the Bears!

This guy is one of the Baylor mascots and was their counselor at Camp Cho-Yeh.  He's such a nice guy and waited on us after the game to see the boys!
All that cheering took it out of him!

SIC 'EM BEARS!!

15 Months

I'm jumping around but wanted to be sure to post about Drew's 15 month check up.  Poor boy has had a rough few weeks.  He cut all four of his molars, had a cold, cough, chest congestion, almost 3 weeks of a stomach bug AND a double ear infection.  He's with me at the elementary school a lot, so I guess he's just picking up everything there?!? Needless to say, Drew and Mama have not slept much and the bags under Mama's eyes are very pronounced these days.

We went last week for his 15 month check up and here's where he stands:

Height: 33.5" -- off the chart
Weight: 23lb -- 26%
Head: 18.5 -- 50%

Not that I'm surprised at all, but we've got another long and lean little Settlemeyer.  It's hard dressing him because according to his height, he wears a 24 month, but according to his weight, he's in a 12 month.  He's also all back and shorter legs just like his Daddy and Papa Jud.

Words he says: MOM! This is the cutest.  Whenever he can't see me he starts shouting, "MOM! MOM!" until he finds me.  In a few years it won't be so cute, but for now, I'm loving it!
"Us" for Bus
"Es" for Yes
"Dadadadada for Dad"
"Bye", but it sounds more like Pie with a "b"  He's got a very southern draw with that word!
Knows these sounds: dog, cat, elephant, bear, lion, car/truck, airplane, boat, monkey, horse, duck

We're also doing sign language, which helps us all!

He goes down for the night around 7:00 and wakes up at least once during the night.  Sometimes it's from hunger but I'm thinking he might be having nightmares as well.

Does not like to sit still at diaper change
Throws a few toddler tantrums every once in a while (which I have to walk away and chuckle)
Loves brushing his teeth
Likes to find people's shoes and put them on their feet
Loves any kinds of balls
Is great at following simple instructions! He listens better than his big brothers!

Here he is.  We just loooooove this little turkey!

Pictures!!

Our friends, the Ostermann's, built this really cool pirate's ship.  Drew LOVES playing in it.  These pictures were taken just before Will fell off the ship and broke his elbow!!  :(

They rushed Will to the ER where he underwent surgery.  We stayed back with Audrey so the three of them made get well cards for sweet Will.
I wrote about the island project the 3rd graders (and Reid) had to do.  Here is Connor's. It's called Super Star Island and each landmark is named after a super star.  It was really cute AND he made a 100!
He had to write about the island, so here is his paper.  He also made a 100 on this!!
Drew does not like diaper change ever.  I have to be so quick because he wants to squirm away.  This day, he got away!

Just making sure it's still there!!! :)
He loves looking out his window, which is in the front of the house.  He watches cars and people and even the cats, who jump up and try to see him!
I took the big boys to get their flu shots. They were NOT happy with me!

But we did it without tears for the first time!!
Drew LOVES finding pictures of his family! He points, laughs and walks around with them.  It's the cutest!

Here he is studying the picture of he and his big brothers
We like to jump on the trampoline.  Drew always points and walks over to it. And Connor is so good about taking him out there and "jumping" with him. It's nice to have such big helpers!
Drew thinks he's just one of the big boys!

Bath time, Bath time!

Trying to ride the big tricycle!
Checking out Ms. Linda and Mr. Stan's house being built next door to Mimi and Papa Jud.
 Snapchat fun.  Ha Ha Ha!
He was watching the big boys and me play football.
A little laugh for this Friday. TGIF!
