Time for Basketball

Last weekend we met Mimi, Papa Jud and Uncle Jason in Waco to watch the Baylor basketball team beat OSU.  The boys were great and Connor loved holding up his bear paw and saying "swoosh" with each free throw made.
First stop: the bear pit
Connor loves putting his hands in his pockets.  Mr. Cool!

Next Baylor stop: Baseball!!

Splish Splash

The boys looooove taking baths.  Reid usually starts getting fussy around dinner time and all we have to do is turn on the bath water and he starts kicking and clapping, getting so excited.  Occasionally on bad weather days, we bathe after nap time just because they have so much fun.

And here are the infamous bales of hay near my parents house.  This season:

Sweet Brothers

Pictures of the boys together.  So sweet!!

I dressed them up in their Aggie gear the day of the Cotton Bowl:
Reid constantly watches Connor!!
Looking all grown up!
We put Reid in Connor's dump truck!  It was a tight squeeze!!
Then Connor pushed him down the hill with Mommy chasing after!!
I taught Connor how to roll down the hill
He's taller than the trees!!

Reid is like a little puppy dog. He crawls right up to Connor's chair and waits for him to finish eating!
Showing off those bottom 2 teeth!
Connor loves to clean up!  He spilled some goldfish and said, "Mommy wait I'll be right back."  He ran to get the dustbuster and proceeded to clean up his mess!
All bundled up!
Sweet brothers!!

Big Boy Bed!!!

A couple of weeks ago we moved Connor into a big boy bed and he looooooves it!!  He wants to show anyone and everyone that comes over and he also will tell complete strangers about it.  Even though Santa really didn't bring the bed, when someone asks what Santa brought the first thing he says is "big boy bed!"  The first couple of days he kept asking Josh and me, "Want to come see my big boy bed?"  I catch him time after time in his room just rolling around or playing with toys on his bed.  Sometimes he asks me to turn on his light just so he can look at his bed.

I sure was hoping the big bed would keep him in bed longer but between 5:00-6:00 every morning he's up running into my room.  I will say though it has been super easy to put him to bed.  We read a couple of books, then I tuck him in and leave and he has yet to get out of bed...at least for a few hours!

These pictures only show the quilt and bed.  I still have decorations and other accessories to add to the room.

He loves to sleep under his covers, head and all.  From the video monitor and standing at his door it's hard to see if he's even in the bed because he's all covered up!

Jingle Bells: Then and Now

This post is about a month late, but I thought it was cute to look back and see how far Jingle Bells has come in one year!

18 Months:
Ok apparently this video is not working, but he sang it something like this:
Ji Be, Ji Be, Ji Be
...AWAY
(mumble, hum...)
HEY!

2 1/2 years:

And to leave you with a few Connor-isms.  I am very bad about writing things down that he says so I thought I'd at least record these two.  Yesterday I was folding Reid's clothes and a shirt goes flying through the room and lands on a shelf.  I told Connor we do not throw things and he needed to pick up the shirt.  He picked up the shirt, walked out of the room and I hear a door shut.  He came back to me and said the shirt was in time out!!  (We put Connor in his room and shut the door for time out.)  About a minute later, the shirt was able to come back out!

This morning was very foggy in Austin.  Connor opened up the door and said, "Mommy someone's spraying outside.  Must be stinky!!"

Oh the mind of a 2 year old!!!

Happy 9 Months

I wish I could pause this age on both my kids--2 1/2 and 9 months.  It is so fun watching them interact and they love playing together so much.  In fact, when Reid wakes up he starts scanning the room looking for his big brother. All you have to say is "Where's Connor?" and he starts smiling looking around.  Their new game is hide and seek in the tunnel and they laugh hysterically.  Reid is getting pretty quick at crawling and always wants to be in the same room as Connor.  So wherever Connor is, you can hear little pitter pats of Reid crawling toward him.  Thankfully Connor is very sweet with him and often repeats everything I say to Reid!

Today was his 9 month check-up and here's where he stands:
Weight: 25lb 96% ile
Height: 31in. off the charts
Head: 46.5 cm. 80%ile

Compared to Connor at 9 months, Reid is exactly the same height and head circumference, but weighs 2.5lb more.

--He's pulling up on everything!!!
--Goes down between 7:00-8:00pm and wakes around 5:00-6:30am. (Somehow I was blessed with 2 early risers!!) For the past month though, he's been waking during the night screaming crying.  Sometimes 2-3 times a night and the doctor told me he was having nightmares!  Poor little guy. :(
--Wears size 5 diapers
--Loves all kinds of food!! And never seems to get enough!  Lately he's discovered puffs, wagon wheels, cheerios, etc. and inhales them!
--Is at the stage where he drops everything on the floor then watches it and waits for someone to pick it up.
--Is officially facing forward in the car seat.  Since he hit the weight requirement at 4 months, we figured we'd go ahead and make the switch. BUT I got a big lecture from the doctor who said to keep him rear facing at least until 12 months.  He's so long so it's hard for him, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!!
--He has a fake"cry and be upset" face.  He squints his eyes and puts his bottom lip out, like the pictures below, but he watches you to make sure you're looking. Once someone picks him up then he just goes about his business! Ahhh they start so young!!

Here are the monthly shots:
I was doing, "This little piggy..." so he was checking out the little piggies

And here are some other pictures taken recently:
He's not a big fan of the car seat so we often have to stop a few times on any road trip.  Here he decided to take the wheel.
He loves kissing himself in the mirror!  So vain! :)
And a post is not complete without big brother (notice a lot of big, open mouths from the boys??  Wonder who they get that from...???)
He's such a little character.  He took a sticker, put it on his lip and lowered his voice and started talking.  Here's a sneak preview of what he'll look like in 30 years!!
And here we are enjoying lunch on the deck of the Hula Hut in Austin just one week...

before this happened.  So sad!!

More posts and videos to come...

Baylor goes to a Bowl

As many people know, the Baylor nation was very excited this fall when we were invited to the Texas Bowl in Houston.  Baylor hasn't gone to a bowl game in, well, quite some time.  Let's scroll through some past bowl games that the Pritchards attended:

Clint Mabry with Jason and me. The 3 of us ended up at Baylor the same time!!

As you can see, it's been a few years since Baylor has played in a bowl!!  Thanks to my wonderful Aunt Cindy for babysitting the boys, I was able to make the drive down to Houston and go to the game.  Despite the final outcome, I had SOOOO much fun seeing Baylor friends that I hadn't seen in years.  It was great to catch up all while cheering on the Bears!

The Livingston group:
AAAAA Sic 'Em Bears!

Uncle Jason sat in a suite with some of his friends

Paige Erickson and me
Craig and me

Landa Mabry with Mom and me.  Landa's husband, Bob, was roommates at Baylor with my dad, and their son, Clint (pictured above) and I went to Baylor together.  We sat together at the last bowl game!
Looking forward to another great year next year, Bears.  Next stop...Baylor basketball!!!
