Brothers

I love watching the boys together.  They had just woken up and Connor wanted to watch what else but Dora.  So he asked if Reid wanted to watch Dora with him.  It was so sweet seeing Connor's arms around his little brother as they watched tv together.

And some more together time...
Connor thinks he needs to show Reid how to use all of his toys.

An update on Connor's terrible two phase that I blogged about a month ago...It pretty much ended as soon as it started.  Well, I don't know if the terrible two phase ever really ends but he's just so obiedient and sweet and rarely has to go to time out.  I was really worried I was in for a long year but thankfully it was yet another "stage" which didn't last too long! Whew!!

He woke up and insisted that he wear his snow boots.  Then he went outside and said, "it's not snowing!"
And again insisted on wearing this to Wal-Mart.
Sweet Reid who turns 6 months in a few days!!

(oh and Connor was rewarded ice cream today.  My family knows what this means!  YEA!)

Love my boys!!!!!

Dr. Connor

A few weeks ago Connor was very sick.  We were in and out of the doctor's office quite a bit but he was a champ each time and is now back to himself--yea!!  Since then he likes to play doctor with Reid all the time.  He has learned to climb into Reid's crib and that's usually where the check-ups & surgeries take place.  Here is a video of the doctor wrapping up one of those appointments.  The patient is always so good for the doctor!

Speaking of doctors, Connor also just had his first dentist appointment.  Once again he was AWESOME and both the dentist and hygentist kept saying so.  They were able to brush, polish, floss and even take x-rays of his teeth, which they said they aren't usually able to do with kids that age.  They just kept saying "Now how old is he again?!?  He's doing remarkably well for his age!"  They were very impressed (and I was very proud!) So we got to go play at McDonald's when it was all said and done (only to leave with a bleeding and bruised ear!!)

This past week Papa Jud came to town to visit while Mimi was in California and Daddy in Utah.  We had so much fun and even got to go to Chuck-e-Cheese.  Here Connor is proudly displaying his stickers he won with all his tickets. And it only cost Papa Jud $10!!

Last weekend I took the boys to ride a train in Round Rock.  It was 1.3 miles around and the boys really enjoyed it. It was a cool, breezy day which was perfect for riding in a choo choo train!
There is a great place to eat right next to Josh's job.  It has a big outdoor play area and we ended up eating & playing for 2 hours.  For any Austinites looking for a fun place for kids, I recommend Boat House Grill on 620.
Reid was pooped afterwards!

Mr. Fix It

Josh used to tell me that when he was little, he would take apart radios just to see if he could put them back together.  Really??  Kids do that?!?  Apparently, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.   Take a look:

Yep Connor found a flashlight and took all the pieces apart and put them back together over and over!

Dora & Diego would be so proud!!

On another Connor-ism, one of his new words is "beautiful." He learns new words and his sentences get increasingly longer every day; it's amazing. So today we were in the car and I hear him in his carseat say something about beautiful and I love. So I thought how sweet he is saying that I am beautiful and he loves me. So I asked him to repeat himself and he said, "Those tractors are beautiful. I love tractors." How could I compete with tractors?!?

Peek-a-boo Reid!!

The Party's Over

Reid has figured out how to jump in the jumperoo and loves it:

But now the party's over:

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

Literally, it poured last week in Texas thanks to Hermine.  Even today as I drove down Parmer, fields are still under water.  All you can see are the tops of score boards.  Since we hadn't seen much rain around here before that, Connor hadn't had the chance to wear his rain gear.  So as soon as it let up a little, out we went:

Waiting on Daddy
And here are the sweet brothers.  Connor wants to know where Reid is at all times and sometimes will wake up and immediately ask, "Where's Reid?"
Connor was talking to Reid and Reid was studying him so closely.
And this just shows that large personality Connor has!!

Mama Bear and her Cubs

Ahhh...that time of year again-college football!! It's so much fun going back to Baylor football games each year and of course I love starting the tradition with Connor and Reid.  Connor loved watching the band, the bear and cheering with the cheerleaders.  I wish I had had a video camera on him because he was having a ball.  He kept yelling "Go Bears Go" with the yell leaders and always telling me to clap and yell.  It's such a great place to take kids and of course we're spoiled by having the Letterman's Lounge to go to which is kid central during the games.  We made it back for the first two games and still have at least 2 more games on the radar.

Watch out behind you Uncle Jason!!
Connor kept yelling, "Hi Bear!" and "Sic 'Em Bears!"
Getting a close up view of the bear. (see Connor in the background)

Tailgating in the heat!!!

And here we are--Mama Bear and her Cubs

And I leave you with this video of Connor (sort-of) singing Baylor's school song, "That Good Ol' Baylor Line." I promise he does know all of the lyrics, but was ready to go see the Baylor Bears and cut to the end of the song.  Reid was clearly enjoying his brother's song.  My parents have a tape of both my brother and me singing this song at this age also!

Read to Reid

Connor loooooves trying to play with Reid and Reid loves watching and laughing at Connor.  In the beginning I was a bit nervous having two so close together, but now I am really glad that I did. I enjoy watching them together.  (Although I'm sure in the near future I"ll be playing the part of referee!!)

Connor has always enjoyed reading so the other day he hopped up in the chair with Reid and began reading to him.  It was so sweet because he would point to each picture and tell Reid what it was.  When Reid would look the other way, Connor would place his hand on his head and say "look Reid" and try to get him to focus on the book!

"Pay attention, Reid!"
OK enough of that.  Let's wrestle.
Ohhh someday Reid will be the one on top!!
Get him Reid!!!
