Pumpkin Patch

We can't round out the month of October without a post about a pumpkin patch! While in Livingston, we visited the same pumpkin patch we went to last year.  It was a beautiful day and the kids could've stayed there all day.

You can't go to the pumpkin patch without shirts made by Mom!
The duck races were Connor's favorite thing last year and Reid's favorite thing this year.
Even Josh and I got in on the action.
Mimi and Connor on the train
Reid and Papa Jud on the train
This year, the fort was Connor's favorite thing.
He loved shooting the cannon and guns.

 Time for a hayride

The boys got to pick out a pumpkin and paint it.

Funny story.  Connor was digging in his pants and said something was in there.  All of a sudden he pulls out a pair of underwear! He dressed himself and this underwear was stuck to the inside of his jeans!!
 Love this picture!!
The boys are showing off their ducks for the duck races.  Yes Reid picked a pink one!!
 Being silly!!
 The hay jump!!

Daddy and Connor had their turn at painting a pumpkin.

Fun Times! Fun Memories!

Choo-Choo

On Friday morning, a 1944 steam engine came through Livingston and we just happened to be there to see it.  It was really neat!!  Reid was not scared at all, but Connor wasn't having it. It was VERY loud and he is sensitive to loud noises so he wanted to stay back, way back!

Before the train passed through someone had laid down some pennies on the track.  Afterwards the gentleman was looking for his pennies and found all but one.  Connor was helping him and ended up finding the last one so the nice man let him keep it.  He was very proud of his squashed penny!

Very Smart and Very Strong Willed

Not that it comes as any surprise to us, but that is how Reid's teacher described him.  I am proud that both of the teachers tell me often how smart he is.  However, he can act up quite a bit too.  When I told his teacher, Ms. Amy that I didn't know what to do she said, "Patience!  He's very smart but he's also very strong willed!"

With both of the boys if they are not challenged enough, then tend to get bored and find trouble.  Today Ms. Amy asked me if I had any suggestions on what they could use to entertain Reid at school because he gets very bored playing with the toys, thus getting restless.  She said "I think he's above the toys and what we do in here. He needs to be challenged more."
So Ms. Amy is going to have to get creative on what toys/activities she can use with him.  I'm glad she recognizes it and this will probably be something that's discussed with his teachers for years to come.
It's the same issue I've always had with Connor; finding stuff to challenge him so that he doesn't get bored. This year, though, he has had a wonderful year!

His teacher is always telling me that he's "a good leader and a wonderful boy."  She wrote me a note and said she was very impressed with him!
So all in all, I am one proud momma.  Even though they can be pistols they're still my cute and silly little munchkins! Love them!!

And I leave you with 2 Connorisms for the week:
Last week when Connor's class was out on the playground, it started to rain really hard.  Connor got scared and told the teacher, "this is just breaking my heart!"

Yesterday we watched a snake cross the road.  (If I didn't have boys who love creatures of all kinds I would have run over that thing very quickly. But I'm a BOY mom and Connor was so excited to see it!!) It was a black and orange snake so he said it was a Halloween snake.  Later that night when we were talking about seeing it he told me, "that snake is so in my heart!"
