Gobble! Gobble!

I meant to post these BEFORE Thanksgiving or even ON Thanksgiving, but I have been sick and didn't get around to it.  And let me tell you, it is no fun being sick on Thanksgiving, watching everyone else enjoy the wonderful food while you lie on the couch.  Regardless we had a great day with our friends Sam and Holly and of course cheering on the Aggies to victory.  (Yes I did just say that!) I have so much to be thankful for this year and count my blessings every day.

Connor and his BFF Addy
The cute turkey cookies that MeMaw (and Connor) made!
There is a place near my parent's house that decorates with bales of hay for each holiday.  I love this one!
Uncle Jason is 6'9" so you can tell just how big this turkey is!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now bring on Christmas!!

Reid's Baptism

Today we had Reid's baptism at the FUMC in Livingston.  This is the same church where Josh and I were married, where Connor was baptized and though it's moved locations, the same church family where I was baptized 31 years ago! Both boys stayed in the service the whole time and were great!!  Neither one made a peep the entire time.
Sadly most of the pictures turned out blurry, but here are a few to share:

A big THANKS to all of our friends and family who came to be with us today.  We really appreciate all of your love and support!!

Our Baggies

BEAR + AGGIE = BAGGIE

Yes a mixed marriage means that we have little baggies at our house. When Baylor and A&M play each other Connor and now Reid dress in half maroon and half green and gold.  Saturday we headed to Waco to watch the Bears and Aggies and met up with Mimi, Papa Jud and Uncle Jason along with lots of friends.  Instead of focusing on the game this year, let's just look at the kids.  :)

Connor wouldn't take his picture with the cheerleaders so Reid was the man of the hour!
He couldn't wait for the gates to open!
One of Jason's friends had two 7 week old puppies there and Connor LOVED them.  They were jumping all over him and even scratched him in the face, but he thought they were so fun!
Stare off! Just look at those fat cheeks!
When the sun went down we turned Reid into a little bear.
Look out Papa Jud!! There's a bear crawling on your back!
And the little bear finally hibernating

Did you know...

That it's dangerous to take a nap...

-or-

The word "pouncy" means you get down on all fours and kick one leg up in the air.  As in the song "ashes ashes we all fall pouncy."

-or-

A Packi No Nos talk in a very high pitched voice and live in Dallas?

These are things I learn from Connor everyday!  He also likes to make up songs about anything.  He has such a great imagination.  He talks on the phone to his make believe friends Maria and Uncle Pa Wa often and occasionally they come to visit.  (Although sometimes Maria has to stay home and drive the tractor.)

Reid trying to give Connor a kiss.

At school as the teacher reads a book she turns it outward to show the kids. So Connor was doing the same with his audience. And every book that he reads starts off "Once upon a time..."

So a few weeks ago we decided to move Connor into a toddler bed.  Not because he was crawling out of his crib, just because we felt it was time.  Oh boy!!!  We had one great week where he went to bed just fine and slept until 5-6:00.  Well things have gone downhill since then.  It would take over an hour to get him to sleep at night then he'd get up out of his bed several times during the night.  And I am NOT about to start putting him in bed with us.  So as exhausting as it was we'd march him back down to his room and go through the whole process again.  He was only getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night!!  We decided to put a gate up this week which has definitely helped, but last night both boys decided to wake up at 4:30 crying.  Reid was easy to get back down, but Connor cried and was up until 5:45ish.  He finally went back to sleep for 30 minutes.  Josh said this morning it is like having a newborn all over again.  So moral of the story: if your toddler is not jumping out of his or her crib yet, LEAVE THEM!!  I should've listened to this advice!!
