When it Rains, it Pours

We're still not up and running as we've had a few set backs and other expenses.  The window in my car broke; it was stuck in the down position. Thankfully I married a handy man and he was able to fix it after ordering the part. I've had other issues with my car so we're on the hunt for a new one. Also, our washing machine broke. For a few months now, it would work for a few loads then not drain for a few loads leaving me to wring out each and every article of clothing. It's been doing it more and more regularly so we're on the hunt for a new washer now as we'll.  And lastly, the computer. We searched high and low for the external hard drive, found it but only to realize it doesn't fit our current lap top. *sigh*

Soooo we are working through one issue at a time but I promise to make up for it when we return. Some topics to be discussed:
ROC Race
Connor and Daddy weekend at Paw Paws
Mommy and Reid weekend at Baylor Bears
Cousin Woodies visit from Boston
Walk 4 Winkley
One last swim with the neighbors
Silly, silly boys

Stay tuned once more...

Technical Difficulties

Last week my computer crashed and will not start up. Because of that I have not been able to post anything. I tried from my phone, however I could not upload pictures. I'm hoping to get another computer soon and will be back in business! Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Back to School Fairy

The night before school, a back to school fairy delivered some surprises for the boys.
There is a cute poem about the night before school and putting magic confetti under his pillow...

One of the things they received was a shark fin.  Connor couldn't wait to try it out in the swimming pool so into the bath tub he went!

On a side note, Connor is loving kindergarten! He's up long before I have to wake him up and is in such a good mood.  I never thought I'd say it, but I am thankful to have morning people!  Last Friday, he came into my room completely dressed, ready for school at 4:45am!!!!  Thankfully Josh got him to go back to sleep--in his clothes.  Yea for school!!

Summer Wrap Up #3

With temperatures still in the upper 90's, I'd say it's still feels like summer enough to keep posting summer pictures!!

One weekend our good friends, the Colemans, invited us to spend the weekend at their lake house.  We had lots of fun spending the day in the boat.  Here is Connor in the middle of the lake!  I think it's such a cool picture.

Reid decided to take over and drive the boat.
Each boy took a turn riding in the inner tube with Daddy.  Our cautious one, Connor, was scared and did not like it!  Reid, on the other hand, is our little dare devil and loved it!!

We were able to visit my life long friend, Bria, and swim at her house.
For those of you who know Papa Jud, you know he eats A LOT of Whataburger.  While he and Mimi were in Alaska for 15 days, we had to rub it in and send PJ these pictures of us eating the W!

We played LOTS of games this summer.  One of our favorites--UNO.  The boys have gotten really clever at playing and know just how to beat Mommy and Daddy!!

 Reid being Reid
We like to go on picnics with Daddy.
See all the green grass in the background?  That's what used to be Lake Travis!
Connor went to science camp which he LOVED!!
He tie dyed a  t-shirt there.
One day we rode the train downtown for lunch with Kennedy and Brady.

We went bowling a couple of times, where Reid would do a dance every time he knocked over pins!
One morning we went to story time at Barnes and Noble. After the stories were read, the kids do some arts and crafts.  This day it was building your family tree.  Both boys cut out this picture depicting Daddy!!!!! I love it!
We enjoyed swimming at our YMCA.

 Look out, Connor!!

The boys both took swim lessons this summer and did remarkably well.  They learned so much in such a short period of time.  I was very proud!
 Showing off his certificate

 Mr. Cool
 Connor loves playing legos!!
I forgot to include these on the post about VBS, but here is Connor's group:
 And Reid's group

Connor--on his own--came up with the idea to make signs for his and Reid's doors.  I love them!

I think this concludes the summer fun we had.  And as you can see from these pictures, I think it was a very successful summer!! :)

First Day of Preschool

I know these posts are a bit out of order, but I wanted to be sure and post about Reid's first day in the 3 year old duck class.  He was so excited to go and so was momma! :)

For both of the boys teachers, I made pumpkin muffins with a note that said:
"May this school year be like these muffins...so thoroughly delicious you hardly notice the crummy parts.  We are so excited to be in [kindergarten/the duck class]"
Good luck, Ms. Dawna!!
