Going Streaking

A few weeks ago Reid decided he was finished wearing diapers!!  Of course, this was the day after I bought a box of 100 diapers for him!!  But I'll gladly save those diapers or give them to someone else! :)

Pants Off!! He's Ready!!
I had a lot of trouble potty training Connor so I decided I wasn't putting myself through that again and would just let Reid decide when he was ready.  Because he could sit in a dirty diaper for hours, I figured it would be a loooong time before he was ready to use the potty.  But thankfully I was wrong!  It started on a Friday when I was down and out with the stomach bug.  Josh was out of town so I watched the boys from the couch most of the day.  Out of the blue Reid started holding his hiney announcing he needed to go potty.  I stumbled to the garage to get the little potty and sure he enough he went!
The next few days we stayed around the house and I kept him naked from the waist down; it worked!! The first week he only had 1 accident a day!!  Because I didn't feel well, I kept the potty in the same room where I was:
 In the kitchen
 Watching cartoons in the den
And it worked! He would just sit and sit on the potty!!  We started a sticker sheet and he and Connor would both get so excited when Reid earned a sticker!
We let him pick out his new underwear and he picked Thomas the Train. His teachers said he was very excited to show them off!
Soon enough I moved the little potty into the bathroom and here's what I found:

I try to take the potty with me when we go places. Here we were at MeMaw's loading up when Reid needed to go.  So out on the driveway he sat!
He went in a urinal for the first time yesterday.  This was after he had picked up the drain to it and tried to sit on it!! Yuck!!!
Whenever he goes #2 he gets a toy.
Connor likes to get in on the action too!

For the first 2-3 weeks he did very well.  I guess the excitement has worn off a bit because he has been having daily accidents and now wetting his bed at night (even with a pull up on.) In the beginning when he was so excited to use his potty he was staying dry all night.
Overall he's doing well and I'm proud of him.  It just might take a while to completely master it.

When we were at the YMCA the other day I went to pick him up from childcare and he was in the restroom.  As we were leaving I noticed his shoes were on the wrong feet and that his socks were off.  I asked if he had left his socks somewhere and in the restroom they found his socks and underwear!!  When I asked Reid if he forgot to put his underwear back on, he had to stretch out his pants and look down there to see!!

Once when I was in the shower he ran into the bathroom with a crayon in his hand.  He proudly announced that he [didn't quite make it to the potty and pee'd right next to it] then took a crayon and colored his pee pee!!  Sure enough I found pink urine on the floor!!!

Such a big boy now!!

Baylor Homecoming

A few weeks ago was Baylor Homecoming so I loaded the boys up and we met Mimi, Papa Jud and Uncle Jason.  I didn't get any pictures at the usual places--bonfire, parade and game, just a bunch of outtakes:

While the pep rally and bonfire was setting up there was loud music playing so the boys had a dance party.

Even Mimi did a little dancing.

Sitting in one of the swings on campus.

Our Little Turkeys

We're back!!  I realized I had to delete some of my old blog postings :( in order to continue to post.  So I think as a Christmas gift to myself this year I'm going to be making and ordering blog books.

Now onto our little turkeys. We had a nice and quiet Thanksgiving this year.  The weekend before, we went to San Antonio to celebrate Thanksgiving with MeMaw and cousins.  On Thanksgiving Day, we stayed home and volunteered at church.  After preparing meals, we delivered them to those in need.

A few days before Thanksgiving, the kids made little foam turkeys.  They were very proud of them.  Instead of keeping them for themselves, they brought them to church and handed them out! They went around to every table and said "Happy Thanksgiving" as they handed the person a turkey. It was so sweet!! There were 3 older ladies who came up to me and said they were going to put their turkeys on their refrigerators.
Here are the shirts I made them this year:

Reid, the little turkey that he is, would not cooperate and thought it was hilarious.  I was trying to take a picture of the backs of their shirts and as soon as I'd count to 3 he'd quickly turn out and laugh!!
 And again...
 And again...

They had a Thanksgiving meal at school:
Pilgrim Connor sang Thanksgiving songs before the feast.
 The Pilgrim and Indian!
As if I needed any more proof, can you not tell from this picture who the little stinker is!?!
Reid and Daddy eating MeMaw's cherry pie!
  And pumpkin pie!

Our dryer was out for almost 3 weeks so one night I loaded up the boys and they experienced their first trip to the laundromat.
We are SO thankful for a dryer that now works
but especially for our little turkeys!!

Gobble! Gobble!
