First Day of School

This has been a week of firsts!  Drew's first week at home has been great.  He sleeps a lot (but likes to wake Mommy up about every 3 hours during the night!)

There are plenty more pictures of Drew and his first week home that will be posted soon.  But for now, the big boys both started school this week.
Connor is now in 2nd grade, and Reid a big kindergartner!!

Every year the boys will wear their class shirt until they are seniors in high school!
Reid wants to be a garbage man when he grows up!  Ever since Connor was a baby, we go out to watch the garbage men at 7:00am each week!

Connor changed his mind so many times but ended as a cheesecake maker!  He recently had his first cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory and loved it, thus wanting to become a cheesecake maker!!

Connor with his homeroom teacher, Ms. Robinson
 Daddy and his big boys!
Reid with his teacher, Mrs. Cone
 Mommy and her kindergartner!

They both had a wonderful first week of school.  Each came home on Friday saying their week was a 10 out of 10! I can't ask for much more than that!!

To compare how much they've grown, take a look at the past 1st day posts.  Were they really that little?!?

Baby #3 Is Here!!!

We are excited to announce the arrival of
Andrew "Drew" Jud Settlemeyer
born on 8/17 at 10:05am.  He weighed 8lb. 3oz and was 21 inches long.  Our littlest baby yet!

On Monday morning around 1:30am, I started having cramps, but didn't think much of it.  Then by 5:30am I started having contractions, but still didn't think they were strong enough to make a trip to the hospital.  At 6:30am I got in the shower and decided to get ready for my 9:30 doctor's appointment. At this time my contractions were happening about every 5 minutes and I was doing the whole "shh, shh, shh" breathing through each one.  By around 7:30 I decided to go onto the hospital and see what they said.  I washed and dried my hair but didn't think I had time to apply makeup.  We left the house around 8:00am, getting us to the hospital around 8:20.  We checked in, but before they could admit me, they had to confirm that I was in active labor.  Now my contractions were 3 minutes apart and very strong.  The on-call doctor checked me and I was dilated to a 6.  She said the head was very low and that I'd be having this baby within the next hour or two.  So yes active labor was determined and I was admitted to a room. I kept asking (begging) for an epidural but because I still hadn't filled out any paperwork and I wasn't yet in the system, they could not call for one.  I was in a great deal of pain and they called to tell my doctor to come on!  Finally one of the nurses called the anesthesiologist and asked to bump me to next in line because I couldn't wait any longer.  The on-call doctor at the hospital came in case my own doctor didn't make it in time, as the baby was ready!! She checked me and I was at a 9!  Then the anesthesiologist came and worked his magic, unfortunately a bit too late. I felt the urge to push and I overheard one of the nurses say "Get Berryhill (my doctor) here NOW!"  In comes Dr. B running, sweating ready to help me have this baby.  I began to push, still having no medications! OUCH!!!!  I was progressing, but the baby's shoulder was stuck.  Finally out came a crying baby and I was able to tell it was a BOY even before Josh announced it.  There were tears of pain and exhaustion but mostly of pure joy!!

Here are all the first day pictures.

We were SO glad Paw Paw was at the house to keep the boys, otherwise they would have had to come with us!
Great Aunt Cindy
Big feet!

Drew looks so much like his daddy!!

This picture makes me laugh.
I am enjoying lots of cuddle time with my Drew bug!!

My nurse was a girl I grew up with!! I was so glad to see her when I walked into the hospital!
It was a hard first day of life!!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.  We are so blessed to add sweet little Drew to our family and look forward to life with all boys!!

Pictures

It's countdown time!! I am due in 2 days, however, I don't think the baby is ready to come!!  Meet the Teacher is the 20th and first day of school is the 24th.  I really hope the baby comes before then so I can take my other babies to their first day of school!

Here I am at 38 weeks.

39 Weeks.  The toes are ready for BOY or GIRL!!  I'm predicting BOY, weighing around 8.5 lb!
We shall soon very soon!

I'm trying to get caught up on all the summer pictures before the baby comes so here we go!

One day Mimi took the boys to the library for a special story time, where they got to make pizzas!

Dominoes Pizza gave them each a ball of dough and they were able to make and eat their pizzas!

The toy room. I don't think this even needs an explanation.
OMG!! Thankfully it has not been this messy anymore this summer!
Big brother helping little brother tie his shoes!
The Father's Day card Connor made for Josh

And the card Reid made for his daddy.  He drew the gorilla all by himself :)

Hanging out with friends on July 4th.  They swam for 5 hours, then stayed up to watch fireworks.  Needless to say, they immediately fell asleep on the car ride home!

We love Chick-fil-A!

We love CFA so much, Reid even gets a heart shaped nugget!
We found this huge dead beetle by our front door.  Connor made a note so all those who came to visit would see this bug!
When MeMaw came to town she took the boys to Main Event where they bowled and played video games.

 Connor trying on Josh's glasses.

Trying on Uncle Jason's high school basketball jerseys.
It's hard to believe they could be that tall someday!!
Our cousin, Sam, stayed with us for a few days.  One day it was "dress like a cow day" at CFA.  This was the best we could do, but we got free nuggets!!

Later, we opened up a lemonade stand.  They charged $0.25 for each cup, but most of the customers were very nice and tipped the hard workers!!

Later I took the boys plus our neighbor to the pool to cool off.  Selling lemonade is hard work!

Sleepover!!  8 months pregnant + 4 rowdy boys = WHEW!!  But everyone had a good time!!

Having fun at a nearby church.
Cute Cousins!
Playing school to make sure we didn't forget everything over the summer!

Uncle Jason and the Con-man
Reid was given this hat when he was born, but I think he's outgrown it now! I'll save it in case he has a Reid, Jr. someday!
Cheesecake Factory had 1/2 price cheesecakes recently.  The boys and I took advantage of this special.  Connor got the very chocolate cheesecake (way too much chocolate for me, but he loved it!)
Reid got the banana cream cheesecake.
And my favorite, white chocolate raspberry! YUM!!
My model showing off one of my new diaper bags!
Josh put together a trampoline for the boys and they have loved it.  It's the first thing they do every morning when they wake up and several times throughout the day.

Getting to see the inside of an ambulance.

Showing off the cool snake painted on his arm!
And the fierce dragon on Connor's cheek.
More (sort of) cousin time. This time with Brooks, Luke and Case.  We spent the day swimming and grilling burgers.  So much fun!
Josh and I had what might be one last date night for a while!
Being silly as usual!

They LOVE legos!!  That is all they play with anymore.
Mimi and PJ took them to a rock store.  This tub was full of rocks.
Fishing!

Uh oh.  Papa Jud got arrested by Officer Settlemeyer.  He also had to go to jail, where Officer Settlemeyer #2 was on guard.
Having fun at a pool where I swam for years.  I had my kindergarten party here then spent time here every summer until I graduated high school.

And for giggles:
