When Mommy's Away...

The boys will play in San Antonio with MeMaw.  She took them to a petting zoo and Connor loved being around all the animals!

While they were getting dirty with the animals I was in Round Top having a marvelous time.  I bought this old window sill...
and turned it into a menu chalkboard.

And this old ladder became shelves on my wall.
While this cute bench now sits on my back porch (the model sitting on it was not included!)
Oh how I love flea markets and bargain shopping!!

And thought I'd throw these in.  Connor has gotten the hang of going #2 in the potty everytime and last week I told him if he went at school we'd go get ice cream.  Well he did, so I held up my end of the bargain and $1 scoop night at Baskin Robbins it was.  And you'll never believe who else went #2 in the potty that day...

All Things Easter

We had the opportunity to participate in lots of fun Easter activities and egg hunts the past few weeks.

Our first stop was an egg hunt put on by the City of Leander and HEB

Daddy brought a kite to fly...

and soon he became a hit!
Next up: a hunt sponsored by a local church:

Connor wasn't so sure about riding this train until Josh and I said we'd ride with him
He loved the Chick-fil-a cow. He kept telling us to go pet him
Sadly I have no pictures other that these from Easter Sunday.  We went to the early service and it was just too crazy to try to get them that morning.  Connor left the Easter Bunny a cute note (I wrote exactly what he told me) along with carrots and milk and he was so excited to see that it was gone!

After church we had our 2nd annual front yard Easter egg hunt with the girls next door.
Then it was time to crush confetti-filled eggs on each others heads!

Then we had his Easter egg hunt at school.
Reid and I were watching behind the fence.

Showing off all of his eggs.

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Smarty Pants and Wink, Wink

These videos were taken a few weeks ago; I'm just behind on uploading them.

First up: Connor

Next: Reid
He's definitely perfected this skill as well as many others since this was taken!

Snip, snip

Reid had his first haircut last week given to him by non other than Daddy himself (he usually cuts Connor's hair as well!) I wanted to wait until Reid turned 1 and it was time for that long, blonde hair to have a trim.

 Not loving this experience...
 But food always helps!!!
The finished product.  Maybe if construction doesn't work out for Josh, he has a future with Super Cuts???

Ride 'em Cowboy

Last weekend we went to a local festival where they had all kinds of fun, FREE things for kids to do.  One of the fun events was riding a "bucking bull" and seeing how long you could stay on.  The kids had to be 3 years old, but we fibbed and signed Connor up.  We honestly did not think he would do this, but he surprised us and was soooo cute!!  Here is a video and pictures.  Before he came out of the gate, they announced "Connor Settlemeyer riding the horse, Twinkie" but I started the video too late.

We also entered him in a sack race, again thinking he wouldn't do it.  But, he stepped in that sack and hopped his way all the way to the finish line.

He also had the chance to ride a horse:
And I must admit that I was a bad parent.  This cute train was giving rides so I planned to put Connor in one seat and Reid and I ride in another.  There was only one seat left so I told Connor he could go on without me.  Well, little did I know that train took off about 1/2 a mile out of sight!!!  As you can see, Connor was not thrilled with us and when asked if he wanted to ride it again, he screamed "NO!"

Yes, Reid was there, too!! :)
