1980's Christmas Party

Before Christmas, Josh and I were invited to a semi-formal Christmas dinner party--80's style!  I love dressing up so we had so much fun putting together our outfits.  Luckily, neither of us had to look far or spend money because we knew people who owned these clothes! (side note: Josh's greasy look, mustache and ponytail did kinda gross me out. I'm thankful this look isn't cool these days!)

Josh found that jacket in his dad's closet!

Polar Express

Choo-Choo! All Aboard the Polar Express!! I should probably Mimi and Papa Jud write this post since I was not there, but hopefully the pictures can speak for themselves.  The first part of December, Josh and I went to Dallas for his company Christmas party. The boys went to Mimi and Papa Jud's house, but not before going to the North Pole.  I monogrammed these matching pajamas for them and we checked them out of school early.

They had NO idea what was going on.  All of their friends kept asking why they were leaving early and they were clueless!  On the way there, they watched the Polar Express movie to set the setting.  Then just before getting there, Mimi handed the boys their matching pj's. They then saw the Polar Express sign and knew they were about to take a train to the North Pole!

 Getting ready to board!

I love this picture with Mimi and her little boys!

 Here comes Santa!!

Connor was really checking him out!

After returning from the North Pole it was onto where else, but WHATABURGER!!

It sounded like it was a great time!!!

Spelling Bee

Last month, Connor was chosen, along with two other classmates, to represent his class in the 3rd grade spelling bee.  He would only study from time to time, so we really didn't think he would do very well.  I just kept hoping he'd make it past the first round.
Well, he surprised us and made us SUPER proud by WINNING the spelling bee.  First place!!!!
First, second and third place
All of the 3rd grade participants.
For dinner, we went to Outback and treated him to a steak and a chocolate thunder from down under!!
He then went on the compete in the school wide spelling be with 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  Unfortunately, he went out in round 4 or 5 by mispelling 'clause.' With it being Christmas time, he was used to seeing Santa Claus, thus, spelling it without the 'e'. Nonetheless, we were still incredibly proud of this kid.  He also made the 3rd grade UIL spelling team, where he will be competing with other kids in the district next month (but has yet to study!!)

Bad Words in 2012

I am working on my blog book and came across this post.  It made me laugh, so I thought I would share it.

Christmas Card Outtakes

How many times does it take to get a "good enough" picture to put on a Christmas card?!?
