Father's Day Pictures

I took the boys to have some Father's Day pictures made for Josh and quickly remembered why I rarely take Reid to get pictures made.  Whew!! Three different photographers came over and tried to help keep him still for more than 1 second and all failed.  They all kept commenting on how quick, busy, active, fast, etc. he was.  And they photograph kids all day long. 
I dressed them up in baseball gear, as that was my intent.  Well Reid would not keep his hat on and just kept throwing the baseball.  There was a little motorcycle there and he just wanted to ride that.  SO, here is the one and only picture I have of them both looking at the camera and a non-action shot of Reid.

Connor did a great job! He looks like such a big boy here!

35 Years Together

Happy Anniversary, Mimi and Papa Jud!  Thanks for making 35 years together look easy.  We love you and thank you for everything you do for us!

Connor isssss Three

Every night when Connor praysss before dinner he thanksss God for snakes. Ssso, I figured if he is that thankful of one of God'sss creatures why not have a whole party theme filled with snakessssssss? We reserved a nearby sssprinkler park and pavilion and the kids had sssso much fun. They laughed and played and luckily it wasssn't terribly hot. Mimi and I made the cake:

On the day of his birthday, I told him today he turned three. He started jumping up and down screaming, "I don't believe it!" Then he talked about how all his people in the world would be calling to tell him happy birthday. On the way to buy his donuts for his "donut birthday party" as he kept calling it, he'd say, "I'm not two anymore. Today I'm three!"

Here are his stats:

Weight: 36lb (75%ile)

Height: 40.5 in (off the charts)

These are the exact same percentages from a year ago. Still says he'll be 6'4"-6'6" and probably still lean! His favorite tv shows are Diego, Dora the Explorer, Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies. He is over Elmo and Sesame Street!! He uses really big words and people often think he's older because of his vocabulary. He loves to race! Whether it's eating supper, going potty, etc if you turn it into a race, he's all about it. He likes to use sign language and if he doesn't know the correct sign for a word, he just makes it up. He'll first ask me, "whats the sign for ---?" If I tell him I don't know he'll say, "oh it's this" and completely make something up but be so sure about it. He sings and makes up songs all the time, too. When his song is over, his favorite fan, Reid, laughs and claps!! I need to be better at writing down all the funny words, terms, songs, etc that he makes up. Today he told me he wanted M&Ms and a blackie. I said "a what?!?" and he said "a green M&M and a blackie." I finally figured out he was talking about a chocolate chip morsel!

A Week of Celebrations

I started this blog last week but with planning a birthday party, having family in town and my computer getting a virus, I'm just now getting around to posting this.

Today:

It was an exciting week at our house. The morning of Connor's birthday we had a "donut party" as he calls it.


Then we went to Chuck-e-Cheese and as always, he loved that!

 And so did Reid!

Sea World

This past Saturday we took a family trip to Sea World in San Antonio.  Baylor had an "alumni day" there and the deal was way too good to pass up.  We saved over $200 and had such a great time.  Despite waking up very early that morning and having no naps the boys did very well.  Reid had some fussy moments (as you can tell in some of the pictures)  but overall they were troopers and really did enjoy the park. We got there when the park opened at 10:00am and stayed until 7:00pm! MeMaw was able to join us for a couple of hours as well, so that was a treat.

Ahhh the smell of SPF 100...

only means one thing...summer is here!!  We have been taking full advantage of the warm hot sunny days we've had.  We are so lucky to have great pools, splash pads and water parks all less than 5 miles away. 

We had 3 families over last weekend.  We grilled out while the kids had a fun time getting wet!!  These four are so close in age, born from April-June 2008.  Their 4 little siblings were born March-August 2010!

And you'll notice Connor's BFF, Addy is usually in 99% of our pictures.  We are so sad because she is going to be moving to Dallas soon :(  Connor won't know what to do without her!!
