Pine Cove

For one weekend in September, Reid and I attended a Mother-Son retreat and LOVED it!  I had taken Connor to one last spring in Tyler, and now it was Reid's turn for one in Columbus.
The first night, we were grouped with other campers and had to construct a pirate ship to race in the swimming pool.
My best friend from high school, Shannon, has a son who is just 8 months older than Reid.  These boys got to know one another at Camp Cho-Yeh and immediately formed a friendship.  So we invited them to come with us for the weekend.  The boys had so much fun together.

After the timer went off to build the pirate ships, these two ran out into the grass jumping around and embracing.  Shannon and I were laughing so hard!

The next morning at breakfast.
The fun swimming pool
One of the first events was called Mother-Son California Kickball.  The moms and boys were connected together by the ankles.

I caught the ball in the outfield!

Reid loves playing checkers, and he legitimately beat me!!
Getting ready to ride the big swing

Next it was time for a canoe ride

Then archery and b.b. guns

It was such a hot day so jumping in the pool felt oh, so good!

After pool time, it was time to zip line.  I love that my boys will try out all the adventures!
Enjoying the tire swing

Another fun swing that goes in all directions

Getting ready for the late night mother-son scavenger hunt

The counselors were SO good!

One of Shannon's friends stayed with us as well
I'm so blessed to have had this one on one time with each of my boys!
While we were at our retreat, Connor & the rest of the 3rd graders, were given a Bible on stage at church.
What a great weekend!!
