I'm in trouble now!

I now have a crawler! Connor has been trying really hard the past month to crawl; he's scooted, rolled and would crawl twice before falling onto his belly. Well now he's on the move! He still wobbles a little bit but he's working hard. Fun fun!

Since both Connor and my grandparents were sick over Christmas, we were not able to get together. On Wednesday, Mimi, Connor and I went down to Sugar Land to see some of the family. We met our new cousin, Sam, who is 7 weeks old. The second Connor saw him, he pulled off Sam's sock and of course put it in his mouth.

In Remembrance

Today I drove to College Station to visit a friend in the hospital. Yesterday he was in a terrible accident but miraculously is going to be okay. As I was driving away I thought about all the cute and funny things I post about my HEALTHY son. In the past few days some of my friends have received some bad news. So it is with this post that I want to stop and remember them:

To the Mabry Family in the loss of a son and brother
To the Kennehan Family in the loss of their unborn child
To the Walsh Family in the loss of their unborn child
To the Taylor Family in the road to recovery

You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

7 months...already?!?

Has it really been that long? I feel like I don't have a "baby baby" anymore; Connor's growing up so fast. I say this every month, but I am loving this stage. He is the funniest little guy and has such a great personality. Every day he makes a new sound or face and keeps Josh and me laughing constantly. Just today he began opening his mouth, scrunching his nose and making a ROARing sound. Then there is the snort (if you missed the last post, scroll down and watch the video) the high pitch shrills of delight, the ever so loud talking and talking and talking (I can't imagine where he gets that from?!?)just to name a few.

He cut two bottom teeth last week. You can't see them too well right now, but you can definitely feel them.

The one comment I have heard the most from the time he was born to now is that he is so alert. You can see from this picture here how he is looking up at me, just minutes after birth.

Well, now it is fun to watch him because he is so much more observant and really focuses on people and objects. He's always noticed things, but now he studies them so much more. I just wish I could peek into that little brain of his. To celebrate his birthday, Mommy and Daddy are going to downtown Austin for a friend's 30th birthday party. MaMaw is coming up to babysit so we can go on our first date alone!
Here are his monthly photos with his lion:

He loves sticking out that tongue, always!

Who do you think you are?

New discoveries everyday!

Snort, snort

I guess I'm gonna have to start going to bed earlier. My little one has now slept through the night for a week yea! (UPDATED 1/7: I jinxed myself by writing this! Last night he woke up at 2:30 and again at 4:15 talking and screaming each time! What am I going to do?!?) BUT...he has been waking up around 4-4:30 just talking in his crib wanting to play. After about 30-40 minutes, he starts to fuss because he wants out of the crib. I have shushed him back to sleep every time, but he never sleeps past 5:30-5:45!! That's earlier than i've ever had to get up!! We've tried adjusting bedtime anywhere from 6:00pm - 9:00pm but it's still the same wake up. All he wants to do is play. So at 6:00 a.m. we're doing just that. I guess no more watching Leno or Letterman for me!

Connor has been the best eater. He makes a face the very first time he tries something, but he's like a little bird, just keeps opening his mouth for me. Lately he's learned how to snort like a pig and does it quite often. While he was eating his pureed chicken and vegetables, he'd snort as he took a bite. Here's a short 4 second video of him doing just that.
