Happy Belated Valentine's Day...Take 20

This post comes late because Connor, Reid and I are sick :(  We went back for Reid's 2 week check up with his first ear infection and it wasn't completely gone.  Then that night Connor started getting sick and back to the doctor we went.  They are both on augmentin right now and for any of you with little ones who have taken this antibiotic, you know one of the side effects.  So I'm dealing with that too!  Not exactly the way I intended on celebrating my birthday, but thankfully my awesome husband has been coming to our rescue!! 

I don't know if I will ever have luck in getting the boys to look at the camera at the same time!! (Note the shirt that Reid has on, Connor wore last year---it's a 24 month shirt and fits perfectly!!)

Here they are in matching shirts that Mimi bought them.  They say "Future Hunk" but I think they are already hunks!!

What do you do with a toddler who...

...gets out of bed nearly every single night??  Connor has been in his big boy double bed for almost 2 months now.  He loves it and does get excited to sleep in it.  BUT at least 1-2 times a night he grabs all of his blankets and marches down to my room.  He knows he's not allowed in my bed so I get up and we walk back down the hallway and he gets back in bed.  Usually he just wants to be tucked in and covered with blankets, but I've still been woken up and had to get out of bed!  We've tried the dark curtains, night light, sound machine, etc and nothing seems to help.  We even try putting the gate up which he hates and will scream and pitch a fit waking everyone else up.  So I'm at a loss. 
Of course he's still up between 5-6:00am every morning, at which time I do let him in my bed to watch tv while I try to sleep!!

Snow one day...

ZOO the next.  Gotta love Texas weather!!

Last week was cold and windy. COLD! We were cooped up and going stir crazy so when we got 1 inch of snow on Friday we happily bundled up and went outside.  Connor woke up at 6:00am and was sooo excited to see white on the ground.  He kept saying "it turned to snow! It turned to snow!" We made him wait at least until the sun came up to go outside but even at that he was too eager to take his pajamas off.

We finally talked him into putting on some warmer clothes so he and Daddy could build a snowman.

As cute as these chubby cheeks are all bundled up, I don't think I could live up north and do this every time we left the house.  But oh, so cute!!

The next day we awoke to a beautiful sunny day and headed down to San Antonio to see MeMaw.  It was cool in the morning but by afternoon it warmed up to the mid 60's.  The perfect day for a trip to the zoo!

Every night when we say our prayers, Connor thanks God for snakes.  Every night!  So we had to see God's beautiful creature.  Yikes!!

Last stop: the train!  It was a great way to end the day!

Reid had such a great time!! He kicked and laughed the whole day!!

Happy 10 Months and...

happy first ear infection :(  This is a first for our house since Connor never had any.  Poor Reid just can't shake all these illnesses lately.  Last week the stomach bug hit our house in a big way and it took Reid over a week to get well. Then two days later he came down with fever and today was diagnosed with an ear infection.  Couple that with the 6 weeks of nightmares he was having and Reid and Mommy haven't had much sleep the past few months!

Today at the doctor he weighed 26lb.  He has started to push his shopping cart around so I have a feeling the weight gain will come to a halt pretty soon.

~He knows words: Connor, Daddy, fan, door, eat & bottle (of course he knows the last two!)

~He claps and waves all the time.

~His 3rd tooth (top right) is coming in!

~Babbles a lot.  His favorite word: Da.  Speaking of "Da" he definitely knows his daddy.  As soon as he sees Josh come home from work he starts grinning from ear to ear!!

The other day Reid was awake while Connor was napping.  I was in the kitchen and heard a knocking.  I went around the corner and there was Reid knocking on Connor's door as to say, "please come out and play with me!"  It was so cute!!

And here's a picture to leave for all the single ladies out there.  I mentioned in the last post that Connor thinks it's so cool to put his hands in his pocket.  He actually told me to take this picture.  Sexy or what?!?
