Trying Days

I can't say I wasn't warned about the age of 3 but whew.  We have many "trying days" as I'm calling them.  Sometimes Connor will be the sweetest boy, using great manners, sharing his toys and being a great big brother.  Other times, eh not so much.  We had a very trying day yesterday but amidst the bad behavior he can still make me laugh...sometimes!

He put on a fleece vest and underwear and was dancing around.
Anyone ever seen the Naked Cowboy in NYC?

Our little "Baggie" (Bear + Aggie)

Connor and Addy were sitting on this seat watching TV.  Addy got up and Reid worked his way over and took her seat.  That's just like a little brother trying to ruin "the moment!"

And he did not give the seat back!

Sunday Morning Concert

And some other recent pictures:

As I was making lunch I could hear the boys playing with their toys.  Little did I know they dumped out every single bucket, tub & shelf and scattered them all over the floor!!  I decided to use that as a time to re-organize and put all the balls together, trucks, blocks, etc.  It was great. Then just 2 days later, the tornado hit the playroom again. I don't know why I even try!!

Connor was playing at Addy's and found her dress up box.  He didn't find any batman capes or baseball pants like he has at his house.  Instead...

Happy Sunday Y'all!

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

I wonder how many posts over the past 3 years I've written about sleep, or the lack there of?!?  After Reid went through that crazy two weeks of waking at at 2:00, 3:00 or 4:00am and staying awake, he's back to himself.  Sleeps 11-12 hours a night and about 2-3 hours during the day.  Ahhh!! He likes sleep just like his mamma!  Even when he does wake up, he can stay in there for another hour just lying there or reading books.
Connor, well, he's just like his daddy!  Josh woke up at 2:30am for work on Thursday morning and did not go back to sleep until after 1:00am on Friday.  He slept for about 4-5 hours then got up once again for work.  I don't know he does it, but evidently Connor is a chip off the old block.
Lately he has not been going to sleep until 9-10:00pm, waking up during the night and still getting up around 5:00-6:00am.  At night, we do the same ritual we have always done--turn on sound machine, read books and lie with him for a few minutes.  That used to work.  Lately, as soon as we leave his room, he gets up, turns on the light and sits and reads.   We used to go in and turn off the light but it was a fight each time.  Now we just let him read until he falls asleep.  This lack of sleep is affecting everything, especially his behavior.  He's also started waking up during the night and having potty accidents.  These are things that we conquered a couple of months ago, or so we thought.

I decided to start taking away his nap, but as  you can see, he really needs his naps:

I find him asleep everyday!  I only let him sleep for an hour, but that's not helping with bedtime either.  Hopefully this is yet another stage and once Mother's Day Out starts things will get better.

Splish, Splash

This summer has been miserably hot and dry but it has not slowed us down.  We love going to all the nearby pools, sprinkler parks and splash pads and the boys have come to love the water.  At the beginning of summer Connor was scared to even get his face wet.  Now (thanks in part to Daddy and Jorge, his swim teacher) all he wants to do is swim and jump in, and refuses to wear floaties.  So here are all kinds of swim-related pictures followed by a couple of videos.

 Oops we forgot our swimsuit...

While the other girls are paying attention at swim lessons, my son is busy trying to climb up the rail!

Showing off his certificate that he passed swim lessons!

And now for some videos:
FYI--that is Mimi in the background, not me!!

I cut this video short because it was a little long.  You can hear Reid in the background doing his animal noises about a second too late.
