Waco Children's Museum

Between children museums and zoos, we are making our rounds in Texas!  While I was at Baylor, I never really knew anything about the children's museum (which is on campus.)  After I had kids and told people I went to BU, I frequently got asked, "oh don't you love the children's museum there?!?"  Until last week, I had never been, but yes it was fantastic.  Our friends, Julie and Kennedy rode with us and we met up with none other than...ADDY & AVA!!!  It had been a few months since Connor and Addy had seen each other, but they picked up right where they left off.  We don't have another "Addy" here so it was fun watching them.  They laughed and played and had such a great time being back together!

Watching how a tornado is formed.

Reid kept cooking for me!  Yum!
 "Hey! Watch out!"

We're in good hands with these fire fighters!

 Yee Haw!!
Connor had to lasso while Addy rode with her chicken in the back of the wagon.

While Addy cooked the chicken, Connor churned the butter.
 Making a big bubble!
This was probably their favorite thing to do.  You stand in the middle & pull on the string then a huge bubble forms around you.

Their expressions right after the bubble popped.

I love Reid's little grin on this one!

After the museum, we all went over to the bear pits.  Unfortunately the bears were taking their naps.

Time to say goodbye. Hugs for everyone.

Ava kept trying to kiss Reid, but he wanted nothing to do with it.  He might regret that someday!!

Luckily we get to see them again in a few weeks for Addy's 4th birthday.  I'm not telling Connor because he would ask me everyday if it was time to go to Addy's!!

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Each year Zilker Park hosts tons of kite flyer's for their annual kite festival.  We take the kids each year and have so much fun.  We like to get out there early but this year we didn't get there until nap time.  It was the perfect day to have a kite festival!

Connor was a trooper.  We did A LOT of walking and he was exhausted.  He fell asleep on the way home and when we tried to wake him up, he would not move.  I sent Reid in there to get him up but he still wouldn't budge.  Reid lied down next to him, face to face, and kept saying his name. He'd put his hand on Connor's back too.  It was so sweet!!

GOOOAAALLLL!!

Connor just finished his first season of soccer.  We went back and forth on whether he was too young but decided to give it a go.  He was the only one on the team who actually understood how the game was played and all the fundamentals.  His coach said he was a natural!  He loved practices and followed along with what the coach said.  Then came game time.  The first couple of games he started out laughing & kicking the ball.  He even scored the first goal.  But then...the other team kicked the ball away from him and he did NOT like that.  He started crying and walked off the court; he was done.  Thankfully by game 3 the tears stopped but we still never knew how he'd "perform."  He'd get out there and play for a little bit,  but when he was done, he was done.  He'd walk off the court (in the middle of play) and sit.  Sometimes we'd convince him to go back out there, but he would just stand or have fun running and falling down.  Such a stinker!!  I think we'll take a year off and try again next spring.

Paw Paw was always on "chasing Reid duty!"

 Connor's cheering section!!
His team was called Lucky Charms and he was #10 (like another Baylor athlete that we all know these days!)
Even Reid got in on the action.

 Go Connor Go!!
Giving high 5's after scoring a goal.

Showing off his first trophy. He was SO excited to receive it and still talks about it!

Inseparable

I think these pictures pretty much sum it up:

Yes wherever one goes, the other is right behind.  Whatever one says/does, the other repeats it.  We know if they disappear we will find them both together.  Even at the dinner table, we have them on opposite sides, but so many times they want to sit right next to each other.  Reid does not yet go to Mother's Day Out, and Connor goes two mornings a week.  Those two mornings, Reid walks around saying, "Nonnor, cool" (Connor, school)  He gets so excited when I tell him it's time to go pick "Nonnor" up from school.  And every morning as we leave the classroom the boys give each other a big hug and kiss.

Brothers. Best Friends. Inseparable.
And I couldn't wish for anything better!
