It's Father's Day

"It's Father's Day, It's Father's Day
And I want to say
I love you, Dad. I love you, Dad
In a special way"

This was a song I used to sing when I was little and now I taught it to the boys. They took turns singing it to Josh, Papa Jud and Paw Paw.  Our favorite daddies! :)

Here is a questionnaire Connor did for Josh.  He came up with these answers all on his own. (Sorry you'll have to click on it to read the answers.)

We sure love Daddy!

Q&A with a 4 year old

My baby is 4!!!!  Next year at this time I can promise there will be some tears knowing that kindergarten is right around the corner.  Not ready for that just yet!!!

We had his 4 year check up yesterday, where he got 3 shots.  I had been warned that this was not a fun check-up and everyone was right! He did wonderfully until the doctor mentioned the word SHOTS!  His legs were pretty sore afterwards but he was a trooper.  When Mimi told him how brave he was he said, "I certainly was not brave and I absolutely did cry!" Then he told Papa Jud, "It hurt very badly.  I was screaming my head off."  I really don't know where he gets this drama from?!?

However, I do know where he gets his long and lean physique from.  Here are his stats:
Height: 45 1/4 (off the charts)
Weight: 40.2 (75%ile)

This has been the same pattern the past 4 years! I calculated what his height is predicted to be at the age of 18 and drumroll...6'7 1/2"  He currently wears a size 11 shoe, and I have a feeling those feet will keep right on growing.  I wear a 10-10.5, Josh wears a 15 and Uncle Jason wears a 17.  As Josh's MaMaw used to say, he'll have a good "understanding!"

He also has 20/20 vision and perfect hearing.  So I told him that he sees better than his daddy and hears better than his grandfathers!!

Penguins and Gators and Whales, Oh My!

This past Saturday, Baylor held their annual "Baylor Day" at Sea World.  We went last year and had so much fun that we talked my parents and brother into going this year.  We decided that this will definitely be an annual family trip.

Saturday also happened to be someone special's 4th birthday:

Riding the Shamu roller coaster with Daddy (even though you can only see Daddy!)
 Riding the carousel with Mimi
 Rosita from Sesame Street

 Daddy, Connor and Uncle Jason
 Family picture with Shamu
 Sitting at the Baylor picnic
Connor being silly with Mimi's visor.
 Yea for Baylor Cheerleaders!
 Watching the Sea Lion show
 Daddy and his boys
Feeding the Sea Lions.  Connor loved to pick up the fish and throw it to the sea lions.  Reid was being a little "girly" as Josh said and wouldn't touch the fish!

All the heat and excitement took a toll on Reid.
But he was very comfortable in Mimi's lap!
 Watching Ernie dance!
One of the penguins pushed Connor's hat down over his face!!

Time to cool off with ice cream!
Very intently watching the dolphins.

Riding the carousel one last time

We were there from 9:30-5:30. It was very hot but lots of fun.  Can't wait to do it all again next year!!

Up Next: Connor's 4th Birthday Party!!

Oh a Camping We Will Go...

...in our backyard!! Last weekend we borrowed a tent from my friend, Julie, and camped out; it was so much fun!! All four of us attempted to stay in there, but Reid wouldn't sit still. He thought it was like a bounce house and just wanted to run around and hit the sides. So Josh took him inside and Connor and I slept in the tent. Connor didn't fall asleep until well after 9:00 but slept through the night! He woke up around 5:45am because the birds were so loud! So we got up and were at HEB by 6:15am!

 What's a campout without s'mores!?!

 All over his face!!

Love making memories! :)
