Connor had a great year in first grade. First at Winkley Elementary, then at Ellisor Elementary. He is really smart and does well in all subjects. Both of his teachers had great things to say about him!
"Connor, I am so glad you were in my class this year. You are such a hard worker and fun kiddo! I know you will do great at your new school and they will be lucky to have you. I'm so proud of how great your reading took off and how much math you have learned. I can't wait until you're in college and you go to the greatest University ever...Texas! :) I love how proud you are of Baylor and I know whatever place you go you will be great at whatever you do! Thanks for being such a kind friend to all! You're the best! Love Ms. Garner"
Here is a picture of Connor and Ms. Garner from the yearbook:
And from the last day in her class:
The next semester was spent at Ellisor with Ms. Weitzel as his teacher. Here is what she had to say about Connor at the end of the year:
"Connor, You are such and awesome kid! If every child was like you, I wouldn't have a job! You are so smart and kind and hard working. Ellisor is lucky that we get to have you here. Follow your dreams to be a sailor! You definitely work hard enough. Can't wait to watch you grow over the next few years! Love, Ms. Weitzel"
Here is a picture of Connor and Ms. Weitzel the last day of school:
The previous day was awards day at school. Normally, each child gets one award, but Connor received two. The first one was the Language Arts Award for Writing, and the second, the Character Counts award. The second one is very special because only one boy and girl receive this award. Mrs. Weitzel said he has every quality it takes to receive that award. She has told me on many occasions how sweet and smart he is.
With his principal, Mrs. Felinski receiving his awards:
Also Connor's last week included a fun end-of-year party! It was a beach theme and the kids enjoyed snacks, decorations and games.
Doing the LIMBO!
Guess who else got to participate as if he was one of the classmates...
Mrs. Weitzel's First Grade class:
As we were waiting on Connor to come out of the assembly, I grabbed a picture of Reid reading the rules. After all, it will finally be HIS school next year as well!
Here is Connor's yearbook picture from Winkley. Even though he was only there for a semester, he was in quite a few photos!
Last Day of 1st Grade!
And they are excited and ready for summer!!
First day/Last day
I can't leave out Reid and the sweet comments his teacher wrote as well:
"Reid, You are such a fun and spunky kid! I am so glad I got to spend this year with you! You are so smart and I know you have great things ahead of you! You were the only kid in class that could READ! Wow! Jesus Loves You! Love, Ms. Wendy"
To say we are proud parents is an understatement!! We love these boys and their SMART and KIND qualities and glad others see it as well! :)
Bring on SUMMER!!
