Lake House Fun

Last weekend Connor and I were invited to a friend's lake house on Lake LBJ. It was SO much fun and nice to hang out in the sun while watching the kids play. (There were two other moms with kids. Five kids all under the age of 5!)
We also went to the Horseshoe Bay Beach Resort and the kids loved playing in the sand and building sand castles. Connor, of course, was more concerned with eating sand and chasing the ducks around. He was completely worn out on Saturday and I ended up feeding him dinner at 5:00 and he was sound asleep by 6:00!

Connor will not wear anything on his head and rips off a hat the second I put it on. So I had to lather his head with sunscreen and give him a mohawk.

No naps equal...

Yesterday's blog was about Connor being up from 5:30am - 7:30 pm playing all day with no naps. Again today he was a ball of energy. I was putting up groceries in the pantry when I turned around and saw this (which was not staged!)

I think by dinner time, he ran out of energy and his sleeplessness finally caught up with him. Josh was trying to feed him but as you can see, he could barely keep his eyes open. These are in sequential order:

His head fell into the spoon and food landed on his forehead.

Josh lifted his head up and the head kept going, going going...

At this point Josh was force feeding him, but he was DONE!

He didn't eat all of his dinner, nor could he finish his bottle. I think we might be dream feeding him later so he doesn't wake up at 3:00am starving!!

By the way---GO BAYLOR BEARS!!!!!

My "Active" Baby

Today Connor was something else! He woke up at 5:30am and did not go to sleep again until 7:30 pm. No naps, no break time for momma! But, he never got fussy or upset. In fact he laughed and played all day long.

We went to the library this morning to listen to a children's songwriter and author and even though he didn't really follow along to what was being sung, he did plenty of talking and dancing. The lady sitting next to me said "wow he's really active." I think that's putting it lightly. It seems like at 9 months, something kicked in and he became so much more "active." Lately when we've gone to restaurants he has entertained the patrons and wait staff. A man leaving one restaurant said "that is the funniest baby I've ever seen." Then today Connor was putting on a show at Texadelphia. People kept looking and laughing at him and again someone stopped Josh and said "that little boy is hilarious."

So I guess if the professional basketball thing doesn't work out, he can find his way to Saturday Night Live?!?

Here are just a few shots I took today, along with a video. He's ready to start walking!

Dancing Machine

Connor has become quite the little dancer. Anytime he hears music he starts moving his body up and down. We have dance parties everyday and he just laughs and laughs. I have a cute kid's cd in the stereo and all I have to say is "Connor, you wanna dance?" and he crawls over to the stereo and starts dancing before I even turn the music on. I have a few videos of him dancing, but unfortunately, I'm only able to upload this one. If I can get the others to work, I'll post later.

We love it when our grandparents come to visit us, and thankfully they do so pretty often. MaMaw likes to cook, Mimi likes to clean and of course they both love to babysit. (Mommy likes it too, because she gets to catch up on sleep!)
Here are a couple of pictures of Connor with his two grandpas:

We are very proud of our Baylor Bears (both men and women) so here are some pictures of us cheering them on:

Hanging out with Uncle Jason

On a final note, I was really looking forward to the time change since Connor woke up every morning at 5:00am ready to play. I couldn't wait to sleep in until 6:00! WRONG! It's like his body knew the time changed b/c he still wakes up around 5:00 every morning, which of course is 4:00 our body time. The doctor told me to give him a bottle and put him back to bed, but that doesn't work; he just stands up and talks until I go get him. At least he takes good naps and is a happy little fellow! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
