1st Haircut

Yep. Connor had his first haircut tonight and did wonderfully. If anyone knows our little man, he usually can't sit still for more than 2 seconds, but he cooperated nicely while Josh snipped away. We've been debating for a long time now on when to cut it. When it's humid, he has the cutest little curls all in the back of his head. But other times it's just thick and stringy. So we decided to go ahead and give him a summer trim. Josh (or as Connor now refers to him as D. Not Dada or Daddy, just D! It's hilarious) did a great job and has earned the title of Master Stylist in our house.

Tada!! Our blonde little boy.

What does it say??

Here is a short video of Connor being quizzed on different animal sounds. We left off a few, but you get the idea. As you will see, some of Connor's sounds are nothing like the real sound, but somewhere in his mind he believes that's what the particular animal sounds like. Happy Friday!

Fun in the sprinklers

So our #1 blog fan has been bugging me that I needed to update the blog. So Papa Jud, here ya go!!
Connor continues to expand his vocabulary. He now says: two, fish, shoe, ice, mama, dada, cheese and my personal favorite, Josh (I think he's heard Mommy yell that a time or two!!) He also uses sign language which helps so much, especially when he's eating. He signs: "water" "more" and "all done." He also does the "I don't know" where he puts his hands up and shrugs his shoulders. In the video below, Connor found a fun way to cool off. He noticed the sprinklers going outside and took off toward them. I quickly grabbed him and took off his shirt and shorts and he ran around and around. I took this video after he slowed down (and it's not too exciting) but you'll notice that when I say something about him playing in the water, he drops the sprinkler and signs water.

And this was too cute not to share. Connor and Josh were watching golf and I noticed it suddenly became quiet in the den. I walked in and this is what I found. (Of course golf would put me to sleep too!)

I get so sad when...

we have to leave Estes Park! Seriously, every time I go I get bummed having to pack up and leave. But because of a little thing called J-O-B, we are back in Tejas (burning up!) We all had such a great time and can't wait to plan our next trip. Here are some more pictures of our visit. But let me explain...

We took a family hike around a couple of lakes one morning. As we are nearing the end of one, I pick Connor up only to find that he has wet through his jeans. Ok, so we put on the spare pair in our diaper bag. We head down to the next trail only to smell something not good and discover a blow out has taken place. Because we were already up in Rocky Mountain National Park, we weren't ready to turn around and leave so he sat in his onesie around the lake. Then...

We are about to leave and Josh picks Connor up to look at the fish in the water and plop off the shoe goes down into the water. So now Connor has no pants and only one shoe. Lovely. I run back to the car and get Josh's fishing net. We wait for the shoe to come downstream so Josh can walk into the freezing water to fish it out. At this point, it was time to go home.

And for the first time ever, I had to wear layers and bundle up to watch the 4th of July fireworks. It was beautiful and about 45 degrees!
