The Kindergarten Graduate

Last year at this time I was emotional thinking about Connor going to kindergarten.  And now...he's a graduate.  Oh how I wish I could stop time.  First grade seems so OLD! :( But he had a FABULOUS year in kindergarten and loved every minute of it.  We really liked his school and his wonderful teacher (who ended up becoming MY friend!) As a parent, I really couldn't have asked for anything better!

After all the kindergartners received their diplomas, we went back to the classroom for individual awards.
We were SO proud of Connor.  He received the music award (picked by the music teacher,) the classroom award of "Most Observant" and (my favorite) Perfect Attendance!

It's kind of hard to hear, but here is the video of Ms. Outlaw presenting Connor with his awards.

YEA!! School's out for the summer!

Just for fun, here's a look back at the 1985 kindergarten graduates from First Baptist, Livingston, Texas.

I mentioned my favorite award for Connor was the perfect attendance award.  Actually, neither Connor nor Reid missed one day of school this year.  The star ribbon I am wearing  here was for perfect attendance.  I then went on to have perfect attendance for the next 12 years, meaning I made it 13 years without ever missing a day of school.  There's no pressure for my boys! ;)  I am so very thankful for good health!

Bring on 1st grade *sniff, sniff*

A Star is Born

I'm about 2 months late in posting this! Before Reid's school was out, the preschoolers put on a concert for the parents.  When I ask Reid to sing or perform at home for me, he just quietly sings a line, and that's it.  So I had warned my parents that Reid might just stand on stage and not sing. Boy was I wrong.  I didn't video in the beginning because, like I said, I wasn't expecting much.  But not only did he sing, in most songs you could hear him from the back of the church.  After the first song (that I didn't record) I was in tears from laughter because Reid was so well heard!!  Unfortunately the 2 songs I did record, you can't hear him much, but it's still cute to watch nonetheless!

Sorry I couldn't get it to load correctly so I had to upload the videos to youtube. Just click the link:

All that singing sure is tiring!!

Pictures

Time to play catch up with pictures!

A few weeks ago when Uncle Jason called to tell us he was on his way to see us, this was their reaction:
 Rock 'n Roll Frankenstein?!?
 Backyard pool fun!

It's such a shame they don't love each other and want to be together ALL the time!

One day in our kitchen, there was a huge catastrophic wreck! All the emergency vehicles had to come to the rescue.  In fact, every single vehicle in our house had to come to the rescue!
Fun with boys!
Reid's cute little girlfriend, Allie :)
Connor with the "biggest rolly polly ever!"
We have "rolly polly city" in our backyard so most mornings Reid collects rolly pollies!
We like to draw with chalk on the driveway waiting on Daddy to come home.
My two sweethearts :)

Our neighbor two doors down has cancer and is currently going through chemo.  So the boys drew sweet messages and pictures on  her driveway.

It's hard to see, but she was so touched that she bought the boys a new set of spiderman chalk with a sweet note. :)
Reid getting ready for his summer haircut!

Such a cutie!
Connor made his cute otter for a school project.  It's his foot!!
All this fun leads to zzzzzz.....

Splish, Splash Connor Turns 6

The weekend before school was out, we had a beach ball themed birthday party for Connor at a local splash pad.  Though it was very crowded, the kids had lots of fun!

I wish I had taken a picture of the invitation because I gave mini beach balls with all the party info.  For the other party favors, we personalized beach buckets/shovels with beach ball sunglasses and ice pops.

I taped a package of Kool-Aid with the ice pop and a note that said, "Thanks for coming to my party.  Have a KOOL summer!"
I wish I had gotten a better picture, but we made cupcakes in ice cream cones.  We used bright blue and red cake mixes and filled them to the bottom of the cones.  The kids really enjoyed them.

 The beach ball cake.
We had Cheetos and popcorn for everyone to snack on.

The gifts. Between the favors and the gifts, I love all the bright, vivid colors!
We also served watermelon on a stick, which was perfect for this summer day!

We also had pizza to eat!

 SIX!!
This is a girl whose son was in Connor's class this year.  Every time one of us went up to school, the kids would always tell us we looked alike.  Many times they got us confused.  So here is my long lost twin!

We were glad Uncle Jason made the trip down from Dallas to celebrate!

This would be a great "Caption This" photo!
Love this picture of Paw Paw & boys.

It was another successful party!!
