Drew's Baptism

A few weeks ago we traveled to Livingston to have Drew's baptism. It was originally scheduled for the end of February, the week Paw Paw died, so sadly we postponed it until the end of April.

As I've mentioned before, FUMC in Livingston holds many special memories for me. It's the church where I was baptized as a baby, married and have now had all 3 boys baptized.  I grew up in this church and it will always be my church family.  In fact, so many members here know Connor and Reid and vice verse.

Such a dapper little boy!

Connor thinks everything Drew does is hilarious, so he found humor in the pastors putting water on Drew's head.
Drew put on quite the show for the congregation. He was smiling and waving to everyone!
I like seeing his name on the screen

You can see where Drew is looking up at the preacher.
 Here he was waving!

Such a blessed event and I'm glad so many were there to witness it!

Happy 9 Months, Drew

The 9 months I was pregnant with Drew seemed to go by slowly.  I would always look forward to my next doctor's appointment when I could hear his heartbeat or see him on the ultrasound, yet it took so long to get there. Now, these post 9 months have gone by so quickly!!! I feel like I blinked and the baby is NINE months old!!

Height: 29 3/4 (90%)
Weight: 20lb 1oz (47%)
Head: 18" (60%)

If only I knew any male(s) in our family who are tall and skinny?!?

--He likes to point and wave and sometimes gives you the two arm wave
--He dances when he hears music
--Goes to sleep each night around 7:00pm (unless we have baseball!) Wakes up 5:30 talking every morning, but most mornings goes back to sleep or stays in bed until about 6:30-7:00
--Crawls on all 4's everywhere!
--Pulls himself up
--Will sometime give me an open mouth kiss

Sweet, sweet baby Drew

Lately, he scrunches his nose like this all the time.  It's the cutest!!

He stood up like this ON HIS OWN!! Yikes!

Lately, he's been waking up from nap and/or during the night screaming and it's hard to console him and get him back to sleep.  But it's very inconsistent.  When I went to his 9 month check up yesterday, the doctor told me his white blood cell count was really high which was odd because he was very healthy.  But then the doctor checked his ears...he had a double ear infection! Mystery solved.  Other than occasionally waking up screaming, he showed no signs. He is such a happy, active baby, I never even thought about an ear infection. So we started an antibiotic yesterday.

Here he was waiting on the doctor.  See, he doesn't look sick at all.  In fact, he was talking and laughing very loudly (while we waited an hour for the doctor!!)
 Checking out his band aid.

Sweet, sweet baby Drew!

Pine Cove

A few weekends ago, Connor and I went to a Mother/Son weekend at Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler. (Click here to learn more.) I checked him out of school early (which he loved) and we hit the road.

A couple of weekends before we went, we found out our friends, the Ostermanns were planning on going as well.  So it worked out that the three of us roomed together.  Our room was called Thunderfist.

Noah, Will, Connor

The food all weekend was wonderful!!! Friday night they fed us fajitas, but Connor's favorite was the churros for dessert!

After dinner, we played for a while in the super fun play area.  They had a cool tree house and if you look closely, you'll see Connor and a friend at the top!
There was a big round pit with a swing that went all different directions.  It was Connor's favorite thing to do! He hopped on there every chance he got!
During our first mother-son session, we were told to take selfies of ourselves.  We're good at that!

After the session, there was a campfire outside where you could make s'mores and inside you could make an ice cream sundae.  Or both as Connor did!  Each table had games set up.  Here, Connor and our suite-mate watched someone play Jenga.
Then we played a big game of Uno where I won!!!!
Even though it was a late night, Connor and Noah were up bright and early the next morning.  So they got dressed and played the putt putt golf course.
Back on the swing...
The boys

Connor has a book called Heroes and Villains of the Bible.  He brought that as his bible and I caught him standing outside our room reading it!
This was a stump from a huge tree that had recently been chopped down.

Getting ready to go horseback riding

Connor on his horse, Verbatim

My horse was M&M
On the swing again!

Shooting b.b. guns.  A favorite of Connor's!

Mommy and Connor shot together. Not too shabby!
This was a really fun swing.  You get lifted up VERY high then swing back and forth.  We both did it and it was SO much fun!!

Time for archery. Another favorite for Connor

It was pretty cool that weekend, but that didn't stop some crazy boys from swimming. They would get out with purple lips but then jump back in.  After about 30 minutes, everyone had had enough!

After dinner, they had a fun game called Pitch Black Attack.  Everyone dressed up in camo and the game started about 9:00 as it was pitch black.  It's pretty hard to explain the game, but take it from us, we had a great time.
 Doing a little dancin!

Getting ready to pack up and leave. :(
On the way home, we had to stop off at Bucees!

Overall, it was such a wonderful weekend spent with Connor.  He kept asking if we could go back the following weekend.  We will definitely have to do it again next spring.  But, I think Reid will be up next for the mother/son weekend in the fall.  Such blessings!!
