4 Months

Reid reached the 4 month mark yesterday.  Here's what's going on in his world:

--always drools and has his hands, blanket, clothes anything he can find in his mouth.  Anything but a pacifier that is.  I'll try to put one in and he turns his head back and forth until I take it out.  I'm 0-2 for kids who like pacis!

--does not like sleeping in the pack and play.  We found that out the hard way last weekend.

--watches and laughs at Connor all the time.  Connor sings to him and loves trying to make him laugh; it's so cute!

--sleep:  I feel like we've taken one step forward, two steps back when it comes to sleeping. (sigh) First off, he is now on a great nap schedule.  He goes down for about an hour around 9:00am then takes about a 2 hour nap after lunch the same time Connor goes down.  It's wonderful!! 
Around 2 1/2 months he started sleeping through the night about 4 nights out of the week. But for the past few weeks that has all come to an end.  And the past week has been the worst. Not only is he waking up 1-2 times during the night, he thinks 2am is actually 2pm.  He is up for at least 1 - 1 1/2 hours just talking, blowing bubbles and wanting to play.  Feeding usually works to get him calmed down, but I don't want this to start a habit.  And no matter how long he sleeps (or doesn't sleep) he's always up by 5 - 5:30am. Swaddling has become an issue b/c if I don't swaddle him his hands scratch his head and wake him up.  But because he is so big for the swaddle he always breaks though which, in turn, wakes him up.  SO, needless to say 4-5 hours of sleep is the norm these days.  I think it was easier as a newborn b/c I would just feed him and put him back to bed. 

--he currently has his first cold complete with runny/snuffy nose and pretty bad cough.  I'm sure this has something to do with the sleep problems.

--he eats 5-6 oz every 3 hours

--has become ticklish and it's so cute to hear him giggle

I go to the doctor next week to find out just how big he is.  Here he is from last weekend wearing a size 12 months swim suit!!!

MeMaw came to stay with us last night since Josh was out of town.  It was so nice to have her here because she got up with Connor and let me sleep in this morning!!  Thanks, MeMaw.
