Happy Birthday...

To ME!!  My birthday was last Friday and despite the cold, rainy weather, it was a great day, thanks in part to my wonderful family!  My parents came into town to entertain the boys so I could have the day to myself.  They went to IHOP for breakfast, (or Bunny Hop as Connor kept calling it!) then to the bounce house (Mimi even climbed to the top of an inflatable to help Reid down!!) From there we went to a bakery to get some cupcakes for Mommy's birthday "party."  Connor doesn't think it's a birthday without signing Happy Birthday, blowing out candles and eating cake.  Who am I to argue with such sound logic??  And he kept calling it my birthday "party." Then it was home for a nap while Mimi sent Mommy on a shopping excursion!  When I got home they played with the boys while I got ready for my date night with Josh.  Josh had to take a test that day (and might I add he PASSED!!) down in south Austin so we met him halfway.  I got dropped off and the boys and grandparents ate at Mighty Fine.  I try to cook most nights of the week so we don't eat out very often.  The boys think it's the greatest thing to go out to eat so they were loving this!!
I think I ended up eating about 8 of the 12 cupcakes over a period of 3 days!!

A night on the town with Josh was the perfect ending to a great birthday.  Sadly, this is the only picture I got.  Austin has so many one-of-a kind places so we hit some of those places for dinner, drinks and dancing.
The next morning was my birthday "party" as Connor called it, complete with gifts, fajitas, cupcakes and party hats.  Even Paw Paw came into town for it (and well, maybe to watch Connor play soccer as well!)

It's become a tradition that each year for my birthday, Josh cooks my favorite meal, chicken fried steak.  These were the leftovers the next day so the presentation wasn't as great as it was the night before.  But it was still very delicious!!
Besides $$ to go shopping (for MYSELF!!) and decorations for the house, Mimi and Papa Jud stocked our freezer with all kinds of meat! As I said, I try to cook at least 5 nights a week so this will save us lots of time and money over the next few weeks/months. Woohoo!!!
And the beautiful flowers MeMaw sent me.

I think I gained at least 5lb over the weekend but to be totally spoiled was worth every pound.
