18 Months (&15 months)

On February 17, Drew and I celebrated our birthdays! While I turned thirty-something. Drew turned 18 months.  That Drew-bug is something else.  While he still only has a few words in his vocabulary, you can figure out what he's telling you.  For instance, the other day when it was nap time, he closed his door, turned on his sound machine, laid out a new diaper and handed me a book.  All things we do before nap time.  This morning, I had the refrigerator door open, and he opened the fruit drawer inside, got out blueberries, handed them to me, then climbed up into his highchair. Another example is when you ask,"do you want to go outside/bye bye?", he quickly goes and finds my shoes, his shoes and then heads for the door.  He's a smart cookie, but he just points and says, "uh" for most everything.  His current vocab consists of mostly these words: Mom Mom or MA!! Di De (daddy), nana (banana), "shhh", then points to the refrigerator (cheese),  BYE.  When he refers to an animal, truck, emergency vehicle, etc. he points and makes the sound.  

We went to the doctor for his check up and he was not having any part of it.  As soon as the nurse came in to get his measurements, he began screaming.  She had a really hard time figuring out his height and weight so she just did her best:

Height: 34 1/4in (90%)

Weight: 24lb, 3 oz (I think it could've been more, but he would not sit still) 25%

Head: 47.5 cm (45%)

When the nurse finished measuring him, he kept waving at her and loudly telling her BYE!!! He was ready for her to leave.  He was then ok...until the doctor came in.  Again she had to quickly examine him because he did not want her in the room!!  The two year check up should be fun when there will be shots!!!

He has definitely started the toddler temper tantrums!  And when he's hungry, look out! There will be all kids of screaming and flailing about! (The big boys think it's funny! I do not!)

He is SO loving, always giving me lots of hugs and kisses. And I gladly accept each and every one!!

And because I never blogged about his 15 month checkup, here's how he measured:

Height: 33.5 (off the charts)

Weight: 23 lb (26%)

Head: 18.5in (50%)
