Reid Turns 5!!!

I know I'm a month late in posting this, but things have been really crazy lately.  Josh has been traveling for work, and when he does I don't have Internet access on the laptop.  Plus we just moved...again!!! So I'm taking a break from unpacking and finally posting this!

FIVE!!!!  I keep asking the boys to stop growing and getting older, but they don't listen.
As I began writing all the things we love about Reidy Reid, I re-read what I wrote a year ago when he turned four.  Funny, I can copy and paste the sentiments because everything is still the same. All About Reid
He's still a stinker, he's SUPER smart (his teacher tells me this on a weekly basis) and he still LOVES and admires his big brother.  He gets so bored when he's at home with me and once Connor is home, he becomes Connor's shadow.  I love that they are so close!!

We had his 5 year check up on April 1, and here are his stats:
Height: 3'11.75" (off the charts)
Weight: 47lb 12oz (88th %)
It's still predicted for him to be 6'6" (within 2") by the time he is 18! He is not only the tallest of all the Pre-K, but also the Kindergartners at his school!! He asked me if the reason he's the only one in Pre-K who gets home readers was because he was the tallest!

I made cupcakes for his class and let him pick the colors.  Blue cupcake, yellow icing and a green peep!

We ate at Lupe Tortillas for his bday dinner.  He wanted to go somewhere where the waiters would sing to him!  He said, "I want to go to a Chinese place so they will put a big hat on me (sombrero) and sing to me."  HA!

I ask the boys a series of questions each year on their birthday, and here are Reid's 5 year old answers: (many of these answers change daily!)

The Little Sluggers

The boys are having so much fun playing baseball this spring, and we're having just as much fun watching them!!

Reid, the Yankee.  He's rocking it! He understands the rules and positions and is great at pitcher and 1st baseman.  He's also a great slugger; the coach often puts him as the 4th batter in the lineup.

In one game last week, he had not one but TWO home runs!!!  We were all so proud!!!

Needless to say, he definitely earned the game ball and the coach nicknamed him the "Home Run King!"
Connor was SO proud of his little brother!!  He told me over and over how proud he was of him and after each of Reid's home runs, he ran over to the dugout to give him high 5.  It was so sweet!!
And guess who won the game ball the very next game...
He has been so obsessed with earning the game ball and was SO excited when the coach called his name!
This kid can the hit the ball too! He hits it off the coach almost every time, which isn't easy to do.
Connor says his favorite position is playing catcher.
 How cute is that?!?
 On the pitchers mound.
The Yankees get to have a treat out of the treasure box after each game then have a team meeting!
 Baseball ready!

 Scooping up the ball...
 And making the out!

We are so proud of our little sluggers!!

Easter

For Easter we made a quick trip to Livingston and were able to see so many friends and family.

This is the church where I grew up, where Josh and I were married and where both the boys were baptized.  I love that this church has now become a part of the boy's lives as well!
Standing in front of the tomb.

They participated in an Easter program on stage.  They were both knights standing guard at the tomb.  They were hilarious and stole the show!!!
They did a great job of listening to the pastor and doing just what he read.
When the ground shook, they both shook, and when the preacher said the guards fell down...
they both dramatically fell down. Everyone was laughing and I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.
Even the next day at church, people were still talking about their great acting skills!!
 So fierce!!
After the program, it was time to hunt eggs.  Because the weather was chilly and damp, not as many kids showed up, which meant more eggs for Connor and Reid.

Sadly, we did not have a birthday party for Reid this year since we just don't know many people yet.  So Mimi made an Easter bunny out of cupcakes and we invited our good friends, the Luedekers, over to celebrate!

Easter morning seeing all the goodies the Easter bunny brought.

At church Easter morning.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  He is RISEN!!
