We celebrated Daddy's birthday on July 3rd. When Connor was talking to Mimi he said, "guess whose birthday is today? His name starts with D, he drives a tractor (sometimes), works in construction, is really big and is mine. And that's all the clues I'm going to give you!"
Connor said, "Hey mom, take a picture of us!" I've trained him well! ;)
Connor might be on top now, but wait a few years...!!
Getting ready for VBS
What's not to love about these two?!?
We finally got some rain!!!
MeMaw sent the boys some (very loud) recorders. I love this picture as Reid is taking a deep breath before playing (very loudly.)
Helping mommy bake
They were being paleontologists. A friend gave the boys a dinosaur egg where they had to dig, scrape and look for a baby dinosaur.
We just moved Reid from his crib to a big boy bed. It's been hard trying to get him to stay in his bed and nap. I left him in his room and after a ruckus, I went into check on him. I found a trash can dumped upside down, books and shoes everywhere and a sleeping boy right in the middle of the floor.
Did you notice a theme with these summer pictures? Connor likes to go "topless!"
This little boy gave me a HUGE scare tonight. Josh and Connor were out of town and Reid was playing in the backyard with Maddie (my parent's dog.) I came inside to get a drink and clean up in the kitchen, but only for a few minutes. When I went back outside to check on them, they were not there. I noticed the gate was opened so I ran to the front yard yelling their names; still nothing. I went back inside thinking maybe Reid was hiding from me, but couldn't hear or find either of them. I began to shake and panic. As I was out front one of my neighbors was walking by. I asked if he had seen them and he said no. At that moment I was terrified and didn't know what to do. He told me he'd stay at the house and for me to get in my car and drive around looking for them. I first went down to the pool but they were not there. Every awful thought was popping into my mind. I turned the corner to the street behind us and halfway up the street I see a little boy and dog. A man ran out into the street and put his hands in the air for me to stop as Reid and Maddie ran across the street. Reid was barefoot and in his little pj's, not scared or worried one bit. I burst into tears and thanked the man for walking with them. Reid kept asking, "what happened?" He's so innocent and sweet; he just wanted to take Maddie for a walk. And it only took a few minutes for them to disappear.
I hugged him a little tighter tonight!
