End of Month Wrap Up

So here we are at the end of August.  We've had such a fun, lazy summer.  Nearly everyday we did something that involved water--going to various swimming pools, sprinkler parks and splash pads.  Unfortunately I don't have many pictures to show of all the water activities.  Here are a few from last week:

As long as they have on their floaties they venture all over the pool and are not scared at all.  They love to swim!

Cowboy Cool

Trying on Daddy's Aggie Bonfire hat
Great Aunt Betty Jean, who now lives in Kuwait, came for a visit.

MeMaw came for a few days as well!

And when MeMaw comes we know there will always be fresh baked cookies in the oven!!

Waiting out front for Daddy to come home from work.
Connor put his hands around Reid and said, "You're my buddy!"

They help Daddy park every afternoon.

Painting and baking cotton balls.  We used water + flour + food coloring.

Last weekend was the first (and last!) weekend in a long time that all four of us were home together without something to do.  The boys were SO excited to have Daddy home.  As soon as Connor woke up he jumped in bed and asked Josh, "Daddy are you staying home today?"  He then made out a list of things to do with Daddy which started with making pancakes.  When he was on the phone with Mimi he told her twice that Daddy was home today and that he was soooo excited.

Connor has done such a great job of making up his bed and folding his blankets every morning.  This must mean he's ready for Pre-K!

And then there's this little stinker.  I  just hope his teachers are ready for him!!

For the 2nd time that we've lived here we found a tarantula at our house.  Actually Connor found this one under his toys in the backyard and said, "Daddy look at this big spider."
Thank goodness Daddy was home to help because Mommy might have "freaked out" a little according to Connor.  Both of the boys told me "Mommy, don't be scared!"
They thought it was soooo cool.

We had 2 Chuck-e-Cheese birthday parties in one week! Here Reid is driving Bob the Builder tractor.
Love my big 2 year old!!
Riding motorcycles like Uncle Bud (it's great; I never have to put money in the arcades and they have fun pretending to drive and play!)
We went to the bounce house for 4 hours!!  They kept bouncing and playing and there was hardly anyone there so I sat back and let them go!  That night at dinner, Connor said, "Mommy, I feel like I'm still bouncing!"  Aside from bouncing, there is a fun slide Reid liked to go down time and time again!

We have 2 little girls who live next door to us and are such entrepreneurs.  They like to set up different "businesses" on their driveway and always come to our door to ask if we'd be the first customers.  This day, it was face painting!  They first said it would cost 1 cent, but then came back and said it was free.

Let's see how many times it takes to get a good  decent picture of the 4 of us.

And that would be ZERO!! (There were many more that I didn't even post)
Such is life with 2 little kids I suppose!

Up next week: Back to School!!!
