Recently Connor had Rodeo Day at his school where they had a trail ride through the school (on their stick horses) and various cowboy activities outside. It was so darn cute!!
Here is a video of him singing the Cowboy Song. The kindergartners sang this for all the parents. Love it!
Connor with his sweet teacher, Ms. Outlaw
Doing bandana races
Now time for the sack race
Oil rig race
These races were supposed to be for kindergartners only, but since Reid is the same size as most of them, we figured it was okay. It was killing him when we first were telling him no. Afterall, Ms. Outlaw and all the kids in Connor's class know Reid, so he thinks he's part of the class!
Wagon Races
Cow Pattie Toss (aka throw the frisbie) We now play Cow Pattie Toss at home. Ha!
Calf Roping
Mimi and her cowboys
Ride 'em Cowboy
Connor back in the classroom
We left Connor's school and headed to the real rodeo in Austin. Since all the other kids were still in school there was no one there; it was PERFECT!! We walked and walked and were able to see everything.
We went to a magic show and the medicine man called me up front to assist in his magic!
We had so much fun in the petting zoo. We had the whole pin to ourselves.
Time for pony rides
Tractor races through the hay bales. So cute!!
Drunk cowboy?!? LOL
Home Depot was set up and the boys were able to make row boats for the bath tub.
Getting ready for the pig races
We then went to a Wild West Gun Show!
Learning how to milk a cow
CHEESE!!
Having fun in the teepee
Ending the day with a sno cone
It was SUCH a fun day and the boys talked about it for days. I was so glad we went during the day so we didn't have to fight the crowds. We will definitely remember that for next year.
YEE HAW!!
