Happy Birthday little man

It was a year ago today that God blessed our family with a little miracle (well at 8lb, 12 oz and 21 1/2 in. long, he wasn't exactly "little") I had a long and very painful labor. I was in labor for 36 hours and, not by my choice, I endured 30 hours with no epidural. If I had ever questioned Josh's love for me, that night there was no doubt. I don't know how women do it without their husbands by their side. When we got checked into the hospital, Josh gave me a beautiful cross necklace with a pearl in the middle. Pearl is the birthstone for June and he said when I wear the necklace, I will always have Connor and Christ close to my heart. (And yes I did lose it at this point!!) I swore off any siblings for Connor after that night but now seeing how wonderful parenthood is, I'd love to have about a dozen more.

So what that we dont get to sleep in anymore
So what that we no longer make the schedule
So what that we can't decide to go have a drink anytime we want
So what that my body will never be the same again
So what that instead of watching the morning news I now watch Sesame Street (then hum Elmo's World the rest of the day!)
So what that I can't display any decorations from the waist down
So what that I no longer go out and buy outfits and shoes for myself whenever I want

So what did we do before Connor? I can barely remember. People often told me there is nothing like the love you have for a child. I never understood it until 8:00am on June 9, 2008. And little Con-man, there's nothing like the love we have for you. Happy 1st birthday son!!

We go for his check-up on Thursday so i'll upload his monthly pictures with his stats then.
